Chapter five

"Who are the Klein brothers?" Jiwoo asked, tilting his head. She picked up one of the cats, tossing a treat to Kayden. He looked pissed, and she didn't want Jisuk dead.

"Awakened criminals. Do stuff for money." Jisuk answered, finally feeding the cats.

"They're very powerful awakened criminals. Stronger than you three alone. I wanted to ask if one of you could walk Jiwoo home everyday, or just all stay at each others houses. Jiwoo is newer to the awakened world, and none of you could take them on alone."

"Yea, whatever." Jisuk said. Wooin nodded. "We'll walk the precious princess home."

"Thanks guys!" Jiwoo said, overlooking the comment.

"And if you spot them, send me your location immediately. I'll come get you. Jeido is working with Shinhwa and the Union, separately, to find out why. I want you to be safe."

"We will be careful." Wooin assured.

"Chichi, we have to go to a doctor checkup. Wasn't Inhyuk supposed to pick us up?" Jiwoo asked.

"Whatever, let's just go together." Jisuk groaned, stretching and standing up.

"I'll drive you there, so I can assure Wooin gets home safely." She said, grabbing her keys. She never normally drove, but assuring safety was more important.

In the car, she tossed her phone to Jiwoo and told him to create a groupchat with all of them in it. It was easier instead of messaging them all separately.

"I think you should kindly, Fuck Off." Cho snarled. Her current situation? Protecting some injured Union workers from the Klein brothers. She had put the fires out. While she was surely stronger than one of them, they were both high level criminals, on the awakened wanted list. They had grazed her arm. They would get her if she wasn't careful.

"This isn't worth our time. Let's go look for Dr. Delein somewhere else." They ran away. She sighed in relief, falling to her knees. That was stressful. She pulled her phone out, tapping a number in her contact.

"Mr. Park? We've got a situation here..."

They arrived quickly, with several medics. She let her power slip away, water dripped to the floor. As she boarded a ambulance, she couldn't help but feel the name Dr. Delein sound familiar.

She waved off any thanks from the Union, opting instead to go home and rest. She laid on the couch, resting with Jisuk and Jiwoo. Wooin wasn't there when she was home.

Jisuk got a call from Inhyuk, then revealed that he hadn't answered his calls when he got off it.

"Do you guys know who Dr. Delein is?" She asked.

"That's Wooin's professor, why?" Jiwoo asked. Her eyes widened.

"You walked Wooin home, right?"

Silence.

"Shit." She said, standing up. She pulled her heels on.

"What? Chichi, you're scaring me!" Jiwoo cried.

"The Klein brothers said they were looking for a Dr. Delein. Wooin is his student. Do the math." She hissed. In a instant, they were throwing on their jackets. Jiwoo led the way to his house.

The Union workers told them to stay, but they continued, listening to them talk about the awakened traces. Jisuk stepped back to call Inhyuk.

"This is Wooin's blood." Kayden said. (Don't worry, she was informed of the fake name.)
