Jinyoung stood outside mentally preparing himself before he entered. He smiled when he found Chae reading the same book, he had been reading a few days ago. "Good evening" "good evening".

"How was hanging out with Scarlet?" "good." Chaeyoung responded in a monotonous voice not averting her attention from the book.

Jinyoung took a shower and changed before returning to find Chae already in bed under the blanket. He joined her, sitting for a while preparing what he should say or how to start.

"Are you asleep?" "Not yet." Chaeyoung answered, her back still facing Jinyoung.

"I'm sorry about last night. I was drunk and j-...I don't know but I'm really sorry. Will you forgive me?"

"Okay" she responded half-heartedly.

"you're still mad." "I'm not."

"Then turn around and face me", Chaeyoung obliged, slowly turning to her other side, now lying face to face to each other.

"I think we started the wrong way. I admit I was being a jerk all this time so should we start over? How about starting as friends?"

Friends sounded a bit weird. Even for Jinyoung who had suggested it but if it meant ending the cold war happening between them, then it is a good idea.

"Okay. Chaeyoung agreed. Jinyoung nodded and scooted closer reducing the scape between them.

"Hi friend, its nice to meet you." It took the younger a moment to realize what the other was trying to do. She smiled, "Hello, its nice to meet you too, friend."

"Hm...I've never asked you. Why were you so cold to me when I started working?"

"I was in a relationship in the beginning of college, I loved her with all my heart, and I though she did too. But she left, broke my heart, I guess she didn't love me enough to stick around." Jinyoung scoffed, fighting back tears. "After that, I stopped feeling anything anymore, I started hiding myself, afraid it would happen again."

"oh..." Chaeyoung didn't know what else to say. "I'm sorry." "Don't be."

Chaeyoung flinched at the unexpected touch when she felt Jinyoung's fingers against her cheek but soon relaxed. The touch was warm and gentle.

"Do you know that you have beautiful eyes Chae, as dreamy as a starry night, as mesmerising as sunrise, as serene as a morning dew." His thumb against her cheek which immediately got tinted red at the compliment.

Chaeyoung was so beautiful and perfect and Jinyoung was always reminded of that whenever he looks at her.

"T-Thank you..." she mumbled shyly before asking. "Will you do something for me?" "Sure"

"please apologize to Woo young for hurting him." Jinyoung pulled his hand back.

"I know he acted rude. I'll make him apologize to you as well for his attitude. Please?" "Okay. But he should apologize first."

It was such a warm atmosphere. Lying face to face while having conversations at night.

Jinyoung was finally letting go of his prisoner heart and trying to move on.

The next few days were so calm and sweet. And Chaeyoung was afraid that she was slowly falling for Jinyoung.

Jinyoung checked up on her every few hours to ask how he's doing and when they ate dinner together, their small chats would continue until they were in bed. They would snuggle closer, keeping warm and talk about their days, about life, just trying to know more about one another.

Chaeyoung opened up about her life. She wasn't sure, but she thought it would be better to tell him the story. So, one night she just started. Jinyoung felt the pain through Chaeyoung's voice. He messily searched for her hand and squeezed it tight, in an effort to comfort her.

It felt like they could relate, even if it was past trauma, they shared that together...
