The Mansion on Red Water Creek Drive

Chapter 3

"Pumpkin? Time for dinner." said Mr. Johnson from the bottom of the spiral staircase. Jessie had just gotten out of the shower and was thinking about Mr. I and the Entertainers. "Ok! I just gotta get dressed and I'll be right down." she shouted so her father could hear her. When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she smelled the sweet aroma of apple pie being heated to a crisp in the oven. She inhaled and exhaled heavily to relax herself. She had a lot of thoughts on her mind and was very stressed out about the situation in the secret room. For dinner, they were having a plump and juicy turkey with stuffing and mashed potatoes. For an appetizer, they had escargot and a small, freshly tossed, Caesar salad. After dinner, her mother offered her some apple pie. She said yes because she couldn't resist the temptation of a sweet slice of freshly baked apple pie. She then took the slice of heaven up to her room on the second floor with her. The third floor housed the nanny and butler. However, the second floor housed her and Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. The first floor included the public areas like the kitchen, living room, etc. when Jessie got to her room, there was a note on her desk that read, Meet me at HQ in the morning, 5:00 sharp, for your first mission. - Mr. I. Jessie, full of excitement, rushed into her queen sized bed and feel asleep right when her head hit the pillow. When she woke up, she was standing in the elevator, facing the red button. "Here we go." she said. She pressed the flashing button and just like the first time, she fell through the floor. Only this time, Mr. I remembered to activate the mattress and she landed like a feather. Once she stood up, a black leather chair came out of the wall and swept her off her feet. Once again, the Face Time screen showed up and she clicked accept on the remote. This time, a guy with long black hair named Paul, showed up and said to Jessie, "Hello, Isaac told me all about you. My name is Paul and you must be Jessie. I'm here substituting for Isaac. On your first mission, we will be sending you to a secret room in the mansion so you can investigate. Here, take this notebook and pen to write down notes." He gave Jessie red, college ruled, notebook and a black pen with a red cap. "Thank you Mr. P, I won't fail you." said Jessie. Then, the Face Time screen timed out and a book shelf behind her slid open revealing a secret passage. Then, once again, she said "Here we go." and stepped through the opening.
