07. what's the matter of me being single?

jake once again is sitting there and zoning out while looking outside the window. and this whole thing starts right after jake was back from jungwon and jay's house. There's something weird wandering around here which made jake think about it a lot. of course, this whole scene was captured by sunghoon's spectacular eyes. he quickly brought a piece of a strawberry cheesecake shortcake from jake's favorite bakery and sits down next to him

"jake, i think you would like a piece of cake."

"thanks."

jake says unconsciously, his eyes still haven't even take a glance at sunghoon.

"jake-ssi, if you really want to thanks someone then you should really look into their eyes."

all of sunghoon's complains, not even one of them has gotten into jake's ears.

"okay okay that's enough, stop thinking and zoning out like that if you don't wanna become an old grumpy and ugly man."

then sunghoon continues.

"but you don't have to worry 'bout that, even if you got old you will always be the most handsome out of all of them."

"what do you know about that? how could i not worry? i'm getting older now.

"whatcha mean? you're only 21 and you said that you're old?

"okay i'm wrong duh"

jake let out a sigh.

"but maybe imma be forever alone my whole life. but i'm not that grumpy? or maybe my standards are too high? that couldn't be it, i don't really need that much."

a bunch of questions flew out in unconsciousness, which made sunghoon confused and doesn't know to answer which one first. but maybe jake doesn't really mind if sunghoon will answer or not, because mainly, beside from saying to sunghoon, jake's really asking himself.

"okay, i have a plan, do you think it will work?"

"if you don't tell me then how could i know?"

"jake, wait for me for a bout two more years. after graduation i'll marry you."

jake puts the fork that was having a small piece of cake on it down, he rolls his eyes and looks at sunghoon, his eyebrows furrows slightly, he shakes his heads hopelessly as he was looking at sunghoon.

this is not the first time sunghoon has spoken those kind of sentences. he said it so much, that even jake is confused if he actually meant it or not. but then only a few seconds after, sunghoon will start laughing and told jake that it's just a joke, which made jake felt relieved and so he doesn't mind this that much.

but not this time

jake when he doesn't see any reactions from sunghoon, he starts to worry. he stops looking at sunghoon and wait for him to admit that this is just a joke. but opposite to what he waited for, sunghoon is just sitting there in silence, no responses. a while later, jake takes a glance at sunghoon, just to felt regrets rise up inside him. sunghoon is still sitting there, looking at jake with a serious look, sunghoon's eyes is what jake feared of. because deep down in his eyes, it's full with sincerity.

and the weird thing here is that this is the first time jake doesn't feel annoyed or uncomfortable when he's facing sunghoon's "flirt", he doesn't feel it at all. Even jake couldn't understand, what has gotten into him? Maybe he has gone crazy.
