Just a few minutes later and she's already in the middle of a crowded market. The cheerful atmosphere passes onto her and she starts to feel better. Everyone's laughing, singing, dancing, and playing around. Except for a pale woman in black that catches Val's attention.

She's wearing a long black dress and a dark blue, almost black veil that covers her hair. Her eyes are pale green and dark circles lay under her eyes. The woman looks so fragile and weak as if even the wind could blow her away. She's the only unfitting mark in this picture. She is talking to a female merchant. Val can't take her eyes off her. Her voice is shaky and weak. When passing her, Val can't help but listen to her.

"I'm so sorry to hear that", the merchant says with a devastated look on her face. The woman in black doesn't even look her in the eye. She lifelessly stares in no particular direction.

"He was my only son", her horribly weak voice says. Her eyes now hysterically turn to the merchant. Val expects her to scream but instead, her voice lowers. "It was him. His demons took my boy." Her voice cracks at the end of the sentence. "They are going to take away all the other children too. He will destroy the city, step by step. He wants us all dead. It's because he's evil", she adds barely audible. Val can't hear the rest anymore, since she has already moved away.

Val feels uneasy and creeped out. She wonders what happened to the woman's son. What demons was she talking about? Could it possibly have something to do with Prince Sulo, Prince of the Underworld? Goosebumps spread on her arms.

A sigh of relief leaves her body as she recognizes Garan's shop. Finally, she's home.
