Natalie's blatant lie made my blood boil. I couldn't do much about it though as it really wouldn't help my case to be causing a scene.

Windham grabbed my hand and rubbed circles the back of it with his thumb to calm me down.

"You heard it, your honor. Miss. Jones might claim that she changed but on her very first day she already got physical with a coworker. That's not the example we want to set for this young boy... He should be raised in a stable and loving environment. I don't see how miss. Jones could provide that."

"Put me on the stand." I told Mr. Gonzales. "I know our side already called witnesses but I want to share what's on my mind."

"I don't know. It's not really protocol."

"Mrs. Coyle." Dick's attorney continued questioning Natalie. "Is there anyone who can verify that Miss. Jones got physical with you?"

"Yes, my friend Danielle Moinet can. She works with us as well under the ring name Summer Rae, she was in the locker room when it happened." Natalie told him.

"Then I would like to call miss Moinet as our next witness. Unless the defending party has any more questions." The attorney looked at us with a smirk.

Suddenly I noticed that Levi was trying to get Mr. Gonzales' attention. Mr. Gonzales bend down to him so that they could whisper to each other as to not interrupt the trial.

Mr. Gonzales nodded after a few seconds and got up "Actually, I just got a special request."

"Request?" Judge Winters looked confused.

"Young Mr. Jones would like to speak." Mr. Gonzales explained.

"What?" You heard Dick exclaim. "They can't call anymore witnesses."

"Order!" Judge Winters glared. That woman could have an ice-cold stare and I would have appreciated that if she wasn't about to judge on the fate of my son. "I actually care about the opinion of the children in a custody battle. It's not normal for them to want to speak up during the trial but I will allow it if that is what he wants."

Dick looked down and judge Winters turned to look at Levi with a kind smile "Are you sure you want to say something?"

Levi nodded "I can answer questions about mommy."

"Judge Winters I don't think it's a good idea." Dick's attorney tried. "Miss. Jones could have easily prepared him and told him to say certain things."

The judge shook her head "No I'm going to allow it. Mrs. Coyle please step down. Officer get the young man up here."

Once Levi got situated Mr. Gonzales started asking him questions in a calm and gentle tone.

"Why did you want to come and sit here?"

"People asked questions about mommy. I know mommy best."

"I believe that." Mr. Gonzales nodded at him. "Can you tell us what you think a mommy should be like?"

"Well, mommies are sweet and honest and they take care of us."

"Do you think your mommy does that?"

Levi nodded energetically "My mommy is the best."

"And why is she the best?"

"She's my favorite hero."

Tears welled up in my eyes at my son's words. It was the best compliment he could have ever given me.

"No more questions your honor." Mr. Gonzales said.

"I do have some questions." Dick's attorney got up again, his voice less gentle.
