WELCOME TO THE PUB-VERSE
In honor of the Poets Pub's 6th Anniversary, we are going to take a stroll down memory lane to revisit some of the amazing poems that helped make the Pub what it is today!! The first poem I would like to feature is from a gentleman that is a cornerstone of the Poets Pub, lyttlejoe. This poem is from our Second Collection 2015 – "The Dancers", by our 2015 Poet of the Year and Pubber of the Year lyttlejoe .
By The River
By lyttlejoeI first glimpsed her by the river
causing heart and mind to quiver;
such an image I had never held before.
Swan's grace and regal bearing
in the golden sunlight wearing but a smile,
and my unsuspecting heart's defenses tore.I hastened to her company
with a hope of introduction
but the method and the words were choked with fear.
How does one approach an angel
with intention to exchange, well...
the first thing one must do is to get near.She continued right on walking
unperturbed, without a care,
dainty feet creating indents on the shore.
The smile remained complacent,
as made myself adjacent, and I prayed
my presence she would not ignore.
