After Emily's disaster of a date, she told JJ to come over because she needed someone to talk to. JJ came over within ten minutes, and the two had been talking for almost two hours. "He was the guy from the movie theater, JJ!" Emily said face blaming herself. "I can't believe I didn't recognize his voice."

"It was dark. Don't be so hard on yourself, Em." JJ said rubbing her back a bit.

Emily shook her head and straightened up slightly. "Whatever. I'm over him anyway. I don't even know why we're talking about this anymore."

The brunette saw a small grin come across her friend's face. "You're definitely not over Aaron. I think you should give him another chance. Maybe he was just having a bad day when he yelled at you."

"Why? He was an asshole?" Emily's brow furrowed at JJ's comment.

"I've never seen you so excited to go out with someone before. And believe me, you've gone out with a lot of people."

The two friends let out a chuckle and sat in silence for a moment before letting out a long sigh. "I'll think about it." Emily said with a flat smile.

A couple days later, Emily was in her room doing AP lang homework when she heard her doorbell ring. She looked at the clock on her phone. It was about 5:30 and the sun was just beginning to set. As she walked down her staircase, she wondered who could be at her door. Her mom wouldn't be home for another three weeks. She thought it might've been JJ because she usually came to her house unannounced. But the person on the other side of her front door was the last person she expected: Aaron Hotchner.

Emily opened the door in a red Cambridge sweatshirt and grey sweatpants. Her brown eyes grew in surprise when she saw Aaron at the door in a brick red crewneck and jeans. He gave her a small, flat smile. "Hi, Emily." He said awkwardly.

"Why are you here?" Emily asked in a slightly annoyed voice.

"I want to take you out on another first date. I'm sorry I didn't tell you it was me in the movie theater. I was scared you'd say 'no' if you knew who I was. Please just give me another chance."

Emily's face remained cold, but she nodded in response. Aaron and Emily walked to his car. He opened the door for her, and they began driving to a secret lookout point for their date. For the first ten minutes, the car ride was silent. Emily just looked out the window, but she eventually turned towards Aaron. "Where are we going?" Emily asked with a furrowed brow.

"It's a surprise." Aaron said trying to lighten the mood.

"I don't like surprises." Emily said coldly. "The least you can do is tell me where we're going."

Aaron let out a small sigh. "We're going to a lookout point."

Although Aaron was too focused on the road, he didn't see the small smile creep up on Emily's face. After another ten minutes, they arrived at a lookout point, overlooking the city. The sky was now a beautiful ombre of organs and pinks. Emily got out of Aaron's car as he walked to the back, grabbing a blanket and a box of pizza.

Emily was looking out at the city lights; she turned around and saw that Aaron had set up a blanket on the ground with a box of pizza. A small smile spread across her face as she tucked a piece of raven hair behind her ear. She sat down beside Aaron as he opened the box to reveal a large pizza with sausage and jalapeños. Emily looked up at him with a surprised expression. "How'd you know what I liked on my pizza?" She asked genuinely curious.

"Your friend JJ told me." Aaron said with a smile.

"Thank you." She said softly as she grabbed a piece of pizza.

Only two pieces of pizza remained in the box; two of which Emily planned on taking home. Aaron put the box aside and looked at Emily with a slightly guilty expression. He had never seen her dressed so relaxed before, not that it was a bad thing. While he'd only seen her in class, she tended to wear a lot of tight black, red, and green clothing.
