Five days had passed and the case was solved. Emily and Aaron's profile of the unsub had ultimately ended up being correct. The killer was a young woman named Sofia Calderon. She worked as an escort and after being questioned by Emily, she admitted to killing the man.

Despite the fact that she'd never admit it to anyone, this was one of the rare cases where Emily actually sympathized with the killer. Although Emily had never been directly abused by someone close in her life, she had been tortured by a man for fourteen hours while on a mission when she worked for Interpol.

Emily was finishing up her report at a random desk she was given. She was wearing dark blue shirt sleeve shirt and black slacks. Her hair was loosely curled as it cascaded over her shoulders. She let out a sigh as she closed the file. When she looked up, she saw Aaron in a conference room looking at the file with a very furrowed expression. Through the investigation, Emily discovered that Aaron was a very focused and determined man that never shied away from confrontation when it deemed itself necessary.

Emily looked away from Aaron, afraid that he would catch her staring at him. When she looked away, she saw Detective González walking towards her with a slight smirk on her face. She inhaled sharply before putting on a smile and standing up. "Thank you for helping us agent Prentiss. We really appreciate it, especially since you were on vacation." González said with a smile.

Emily shook his hand, giving him a shrug. "What kind of agent would I be if I didn't help?" She chuckled. "And I fully intended on returning to my vacation. I still have five days left."

The two chuckled weakly before both their smiles fell. Although Emily couldn't see him, she knew Aaron had been watching them through the blinds of the conference room. González inhaled sharply before looking at Emily with a somewhat hopeful smile. "I could always join you? Show you around at some lesser known places around San José?" González suggested, trying to make it seem casual.

Emily looked down at her feet. Through her dark lashes, she quickly glanced over at Aaron before turning her attention back to González. "I'm sorry, Sebastián, but I'm actually interested in someone else."

González let out a disappointed sigh and hung his head. "I guess I'm a little late." He smiled, trying to act ok. "Have a good night agent Prentiss."

"Good night detective." Emily said giving him a sympathetic smile.

She watched as the detective walked away. He scratched the back of his head, which Emily often saw as a way for many men to deal with the awkwardness of rejection. Of course, she had found him attractive, but there was just another person whom she found more so. Emily looked over at Aaron who had begun to pack up his things. He was wearing a white button down with a red tie and black slacks. The sleeves had been rolled up halfway as well. She carefully walked in his direction. He hadn't been talking to her over the last several days which ultimately puzzled the brunette woman.

Emily entered the conference room, clearing her throat, letting Aaron know she was in the room. "I guess your profile was correct about Sofia." Emily said trying to break the awkward tension she felt.

"Yes, it was." Aaron said coldly. He hadn't even bothered to look at Emily. He finished gathering his things and made his way to the door, but Emily stopped in front of him, preventing him from leaving. "I have to go." He looked deep into her dark eyes, almost as if he were challenging her. His brow was heavily furrowed, almost shading the original color of his eyes. As Emily looked into his eyes, she noticed they had specks of green around the pupil with a dark brown rim around them.

Emily bit the inside of her cheek, trying to hide her frustration. "I know for a fact you still have three days left of vacation. I heard you talking about it with González." Aaron scoffed at the sound of the detective's name. This didn't go unnoticed by Emily, which made her furrow her brow. "What is your problem with González?"

"He was getting too close to you. It was extremely unprofessional." Aaron replied coldly, trying to hide his emotions. When he was in work mode, he did everything he could to separate his personal and work life. And most of the time, he was successful. But Emily made him unfocused, and it was hard for the gent to hate the effect she had on him.

Emily made the realization that Aaron was jealous of González. Which felt odd because she hadn't pegged him as the jealous type. "You're jealous of González aren't you?" She crossed her arms in amusement, ready to hear whatever bullshit answer Aaron was about to give her.

"No. I was simply making an observation based on his flirtatious behaviors towards you." He shrugged slightly.

"You don't get to profile my life. I'm not one of your unsubs."

Aaron realized he had crossed the line with Emily, professionally speaking, but he would never admit it. "I heard him ask you out."

Emily scoffed. "That's what this is about? You clearly didn't hear my answer. I told him 'no', Aaron."

He was taken aback by her answer. "You did?" He questioned.

From the beginning, he knew that Emily was an extremely beautiful woman; any man (or woman ;)) would be lucky to have her in their life. But when he heard her answer, his heart filled with joy at the fact that she had chosen him: a grumpy, tired FBI agent who spent far too much time on his work.

Emily gave him a small smile and took a step closer to him. "I told him I was interested in someone else."

Aaron couldn't help but smile at her. He hung his head slightly in embarrassment. She took another step closer and gently took his calloused hand in hers. "How about we try that date again." Emily smirked.

"I'd like that. I'll pick you up at 8:00 tomorrow night. We should get back to the hotel and get some sleep."

As if on cue, Emily yawned as she nodded. Aaron let a chuckle before the two left the local police department to return back to their hotel.

Aaron stood outside Emily's hotel room with a small bouquet of tropical flowers. He had felt bad for how he treated her when they were working on the case. Although he'd never admit it aloud, he was jealous of how close González had gotten to Emily. But nevertheless, he was very impressed with Emily's profiling skills. He thought of what a valuable asset she would be to the BAU.

The FBI agent was brought out of his thoughts by a room door closing down the hallway. He looked down at his outfit one last time. He was wearing a white button down with a burgundy suit jacket and slacks. He took a deep breath before knocking on the door. Aaron could hear the click of a woman's heels close in on the door.

The door opened, revealing Emily in a tight burgundy dress that fell just above her knees. It had a slit that ran up the left leg as well as an open back. This time, her raven hair had been straightened, but she looked gorgeous. They exchanged bright smiles before Emily noticed the flowers in Aaron's hand. "Oh Aaron. You didn't have to get me flowers." Emily said taking them and inhaling their sweet scent.

"I know, but I felt bad for how I treated you during the case." Aaron shrugged. "Plus, you look beautiful."

Emily blushed, feeling her cheeks burn from Aaron's compliment. "You don't look so bad yourself. I'm assuming the color match was a coincidence?"

Aaron looked down his outfit then at hers. "I suppose so. Are you ready to go?"

Emily grabbed her purse, nodding as she shit the door behind her. As Aaron turned to leave, Emily put a hand on his shoulder. "Wait." She said stopping.

Aaron turned around to face the beautiful brunette. Emily gently cupped Aaron's cheek, pulling him down into a kiss. He immediately responded by placing his hands on her hips, pulling her closer as well. He felt her smile through the kiss before they eventually parted. They stared at one another for a brief moment with smiles. "Now that that's out of the way, let's go enjoy our dinner." Emily said looping her arm through his.
