~~Finn POV~~
This feels warm and fluffy.
It's different from what I am used to. This is not like the forced ones that everyone makes me have or the superficial meeting ones and dare say, good? but still, this was so weird and foreign to me that quickly it became just too much for me. I began to loosen my grip on Evan, and he took notice and let go of me.
When I looked up to see his face he had a warm smile. He didn't say anything, but I could see on his face that he was better. When Evan went to the refrigerator to get something out of it, I just stood there looking at him, something that I have been told is creepy since I just stand there and watch without making any noise. I like looking at people since I can get a better understanding of them and know how to act around them.
Evan stopped what he was doing and turned around to look at me. I didn't see the usual shock, fear, or displeasure when people notice that I am observing them. He just looked at me with weird eyes and pointed to the dining table.
"You want me to go sit down?" That is another thing about me. I don't understand things if they are not explicit or with things that people call "cues". I have never seen them before. Evan just nodded calmly and returned to doing whatever he was doing before.
I went to my seat and continued eating breakfast even though it was now somewhat cold. The other guys were looking at me. I think that that means that they need something? I am not sure. I apply it sometimes, but others just turn around or they seem surprised that I noticed them. That still is a trial for now.
"Yes?"
"Don't 'yes?' us. How is Evan? You when there to apologize, no? Did you do it?" Elia began to raise his voice.
"Then how should I address you when I want to know what you want something from me without you asking me? When I left he looked fine, and yes, I went to apologize, and I did." I don't know what to say when people look at me like that, so by trial and error, I found out that 'yes?' was the most neutral way to respond, but it seems like that is not the case here, further research is needed. I respond to all the questions one by one, but sometimes it gets difficult since they ask too many questions at the same time.
I looked at them, but there was no answer to my response, so I continued eating my cold breakfast. That was until a delicious smell hit my nose. I stopped eating and stood rapidly and returned to the kitchen where I saw Evan finishing a batch of waffles.
"Hey! Where are you going?!" I could barely hear someone say, but I was just too focused on the increasing pile of crunchy and fluffy waffles beside the stove to even care about anything else.
~~Joseph POV~~
When Finn returned, he looked exactly the same as when he left. He just entered the dining room, sat, and continue to eat breakfast.
We were waiting for him to tell us how was Evan or anything at all, but he just sat there eating as if nothing had happened. Some flashbacks began to pass through my mind when I heard Elia's voice.
"Don't 'yes?' us. How is Evan? You when there to apologize, no? Did you do it?" He was over-exalted and even began to shake. Elian reached out to him to try to calm him down a little, but I can see that he was pale.
We all were expecting a shouting match to start or for blaming and victimization to start, but instead of that we just got a response to all the questions that Elia bombarded.
Not asking why he was shouting at him, nor upset that he was put on the spot by everyone. He looked kind of lost for words expecting a response to his answer, but since the response that we got was not the one that we were expecting no one knew what to say, even Elia that was upset before stood there, shocked.
Finn waited a little more before he resumed eating.
"...no, ummm 'yes' it's alright. Finn?" Malek was the first to get out of the daze and responded to his question, but we all noticed that Finn stopped eating and looked like someone had pressed a pause button, then we saw him standing up and going to the kitchen as if something was chasing him.
We didn't know what happened and chased after him.
"Hey! Where are you going?!"
Elia asked when we reached the kitchen. Finn didn't even pay attention to what he was saying and just looked at Evan or more like the thing that Evan was making like how Matt looked at us when he gets a new plushy, he even began to make little jumps while waiting for Evan to finish the big stack of waffles. It was really cute and funny to see the difference between the way that he was just indifferently eating a while ago and how excited and how much anticipation he has just for something as simple as waffles.
When Evan finally finish he grabbed the plate and turned around to see an adorable little thing that had only eyes for the waffles and a group of spectators that had weird expressions.
"...Waffles?"
Evan had just said that when Finn didn't even wait until the plate was on the table to grab one and began to eat it with so much gusto that he began to wiggle in his seat. The waffle was kinda big, so Finn needed to hold it with both hands, his cheeks were full like a little hamster that was given a handful of its favorite seed and planned to hide them all in its pouches.
He looked so happy and adorable at that time. A sight that I prefer seeing instead of his alienated and careful one.
That sight is one that I will try to continue seeing.
