Eden's POV
I walk into the small diner and immediately see Miles sitting at a table looking nervous. Smiling, I walk over to him. "Sit." He doesn't say hi or anything. "You texted and I came. Now, what do you want?" I ask him.
"I want to know what yesterday was about." He messes with his hands. "It was to prove a point." I raise an eyebrow at him. "It was a point that never should have been crossed." His eyes are dark and daring.
"Why?" I look at him. "Because I want you and what I want I get." He gets up and storms out of the diner. Wow. Dramatic much. I order some food to go and eat it on my way back to school.
I get back to school and walk to my next class. I walk in late and all eyes look at me. "Mr. Davis. Why are you late?" I look at the teacher. "I was trying to find my dog."
He sighs, "Last time you said you're dog died." I raise an eyebrow, "Must be why I can't find him." That gets the class giggling. I walk to my seat and lay my head down. I wake up as the bell rings. I groan and walk to the next class.
I barely make it through the day. I walk to the football field and put on my football pads. The team surrounds me and I tell them the drills and all that. After practice, I walk to my truck.
As I get in my truck the phone rings. I answer it. "Hello?" There's no answer. I look at the caller id. It's Miles. "Miles?" Then it hangs up.
I flop on my bed when I get home. The boys walk into my bedroom. I groan. "Come on. The party is starting soon." Jake says. "You guys go ahead. I'm going to shower." I walk to the bathroom.
When I get out of the shower the boys are sitting on my bed.
Later at the party
When my friends and I get to the party they immediately leave me. I make my way through the crowd to the kitchen. I make myself a drink and down it quickly. That's when a familiar set of blue eyes meet mine.
I smile at him. "Wasn't expecting to see you here." I laugh and take a sip of my drink. "I guess I wanted to be spontaneous." He shakes his head and chuckles. "Parties aren't your thing remember." I shrug.
"I want to take you on a date," Miles says. I laugh and go to walk away. He grabs my arm. "I'm serious." His face is serious. I nod, "I'll think about it."
Miles' POV
"Eden, do not jump off that."
"Eden, no! You can't eat that!"
"Who gave him chocolate?"
"Eden!"
Eden falls down the stairs and starts giggling. I shake my head. "Oh my god. You need to chill." The cops showed up at the party so I had to get Eden out of there. I took him to my house. BIG mistake.
He's been running around like a mad man since I brought him here. To make matters worse my sister showed up and started making him crazier. Now they're both running around like crazy monkeys.
I pick Eden up off the floor and he falls against me. I sigh, "Come on, Eden." He jumps up and runs to the kitchen. When I get into the kitchen I find him on the island dancing. I throw him over my shoulder and carry him upstairs.
I flop him down on my bed. He groans and takes off his shirt and pants. He's almost asleep as soon as he hits the bed. I change into shorts and lay beside him. "Hey, Miles?" Eden whispers.
"Yes, Eden?" He sighs and I stare at him. "You're really great and I like you. But I don't think we should be friends." His words slur together. "Why don't you think we should be friends?" He doesn't answer because after a few minutes I hear soft snores coming from him.
