Dad is spraying us with water now, attempting to get all the cement off of us before it hardens."You should all be proud of yourselves. I know I'm proud. Your parents would be proud too, if you told them what we did here today. Which we wont. I am going to be the only parent who knows what happened today." He says, making sure the rest of the group doesn't tell anybody. "You pushed forward like champions. Never stopping. Never being satisfied. Never giving up. And if you keep pushing, and keep moving forward, you're going to go to places you've never evened dreamed of." He says, looking at me at the end. I smile at him, and he smiles back.
Once he is done washing us off, I realize he didn't do that good of a job getting the cement off. So, while he is talking to Kreese I take the hose and star washing the cement out of my hair. Once I think I got all of it out, I see Hawk walking towards me.
"Do I still have cement in my hair?" He asks me, pointing to his mohawk that still has a lot of cement in it.
"Yes." I say, laughing. I point the hose at his hair and I spray it. The pressure of the water makes his mohawk get pushed sideways, and I start laughing at him.
"Shut up." He says, laughing also. By the time I finish spraying his hair, most people have gone home. The whatever he used to stick up his hair into a mohawk is gone now, and his hair is soaking wet.
In the corner of my eye I see Dad walking over towards me.
"I think I'm going to catch up with Kreese for a little bit, can you get a ride back to the apartment?" He asks me.
"I can give you a ride." Hawk says, walking closer. "If you want." He adds.
"Yeah sure." I say.
"Actually never mind, I can give you a ride." Dad says, not wanting Hawk to drive me home.
"No, it's cool, go do your thing. I got a ride." I say to him with a smile and walk away. I grab my hoodie and my phone from the ground and look at Hawk, becuase I dont know where his car is.
"Over here." He says, knowing what I meant. As we walk to his car, I look back at Dad, and I see him staring at Hawk with an annoyed expression.
Once we are in the car, I turn on the radio and it goes onto some radio station playing rock. After a couple minutes of driving without talking, I finally say something.
"Do you wanna hang out? I have nothing to do." I ask Hawk.
"Yeah sure, what do you want to do?" He asks me.
"I don't wanna go anywhere, I'm still tired from the cement truck. Do you just wanna watch a movie at my apartment?" I ask him. "We just got a new TV, so mine isn't smashed anymore." I add.
"Why was your TV smashed?" He asks with a laugh.
"Good question. I don't know." I say, laughing also.
"Yeah sure, but my clothes are soaking wet so I have to stop by my house to change. Is that cool?" He asks me and I nod. The conversation doesn't continue so I turn up the song, and 'Back in Black' is playing on the radio.
I sing along, looking out the window. In the window reflection, I see Hawk looking at me.
"What?" I ask, smiling and I think there might be a slight blush on my cheeks.
