I tried my hardest to compose myself so that I wouldn't make any noises. I had no clue that Malcovius was even real, let alone involved in something like this. If there was any chance that he was here, we had to leave. I was about to turn around and escape when Tracks grabbed onto my arm.
"Oi! Where do you think you're goin'?" he whispered to me.
"We are WAY in over our heads. We need to get out of here before anyone notices."
"What do you mean "get out of here"? We didn't come all this way for nothing! We can't just leave after all we did to sneak in here. I thought half breeds didn't scare you."
"This guy isn't a half breed, he's much worse. Nobody knows what this guy was, or if he even really existed."
"So he ain't even real?"
"Listen to me and listen closely, if the stories are real and Malcovius is really who they make him out to be, it won't matter what it took to get here. We'd be dead!"
"Who the hell is this "Macofus" bloke you're on about? He's obviously the one who's doin' this to me."
"THAT'S NOT THE POINT!" I whispered a little too loud that time, catching the attention of one of the people in the lab room.
"What was that?" I heard one of them say as they walked out and looked around.
One of the scientists came out of the room, looking around. It took about thirty seconds before he went back into the room.
"They're here." I heard the scientist's voice in PA speakers through the halls. I grabbed Tracks and lifted the both of us up with my powers so we could fly out of there as fast as possible. As we left I heard footsteps behind us. I carried us back down the path we came from but when we got to where the staircase should be it wasn't there. Only more of the same hallway. I was confused so I went down further and it was just a singular hallway. I could tell Tracks was pretty freaked out by this, when he suddenly got the headaches again. This time they were worse. He was clutching his head and writhing in my arm, and as I was about to use my watch to get out I felt something wrap around my leg. I looked down and saw a bunch of red, glowing threads that were wrapping themselves around my left leg. They felt like metallic wires, and before I could try to get them off they violently pulled on me, dragging me back down the hallway we came from. I saw more wires grab Tracks as more wrapped around different parts of my body. We were dragged all the way back to near the cathedral room where the wires held us down by our arms and legs, so tight that some of them cut into my skin. I looked up to see a bunch of the cloaked figures and another cloaked man in front of them. This one was different, though. This one had a more decrepit posture, a more rugged appearance and the wires we were caught up in seemed to be coming out of his hand. I turned off the invisibility spell because I knew he could see us either way.
He then began to speak. "Welcome, Magus. I'm glad you could make it. I was growing a little impatient." he said in a raspy voice.
"You knew we'd come?" I asked, somehow failing to get the wires off with my powers.
"I counted on it. I've got some shit to take care of with the two of you."
"Yeah, and you are?" I asked, already suspecting the answer.
"Malcoviusumatronavic." he said with a bow.
"What?" both Tracks and I said at the same time.
"Well, that's one of the many names I've gone by. You can just call me Malcolm."
I could see his eyes when he said that, they were glowing red with crimson skin around them. I could see that he was a half breed, but there was something else to him. I couldn't recognize his face, but I still had the feeling that I knew him from before.
