"He still lives there?" I said, seeing the location that Rohnson had pulled up on the monitor, feeling the overwhelming sense of nostalgia.
"Where's that?" Abby asked, floating beside me.
"It's our next stop." I turned around and rubbed my face, taking deep breaths.
"So what're we waiting for, let's get on with it!" Tracks said, sounding impatient.
I sighed and took the broken watch off my wrist, tossing it into a nearby trash bin.
"Do you have any spare watches?" Tracks asked, looking around the cluttered room.
"Yes, but we can't have them knowing where we went," I said, pointing at the B.U.R.N.E. soldiers outside and grabbing a spare watch just in case we need a quick getaway. "We'll need a way to get there without being tracked. And I hope she still uses the same number."
I took out my wallet and pulled out a business card. Abby floated over my shoulder and read the card as I typed the phone number into my watch.
"Who's "Granny Driver"?"
"You'll see," I said, typing out a message on a holographic keyboard projected from my watch.
"But what do we do about the pigs?" Tracks asked, looking out the window.
"Leave that to me," I said, making my way to the front door, Tracks following closely behind.
I opened the front door and was immediately met with a hail of blaster fire. I raised my left hand and conjured up a powerful force field that perfectly blocked each shot. Tracks was right behind me, watching everything unfold with wide eyes. Abby was outside of the shield beside us, but the blasts were going right through her like they were nothing. I then made a pushing gesture with my right hand and, using my telekinesis, sent every soldier flying far over the trees across the edge of my property into the field about thirty yards away.
"That should buy us enough time," I said, the force field around us disappearing. "And she should be here any second now."
Right on cue, I saw a quick bright flash of blue light, and then there was a beige minivan coming down my driveway with a bumper sticker labelled "Granny Driver".
Tracks and Abby looked in confusion as I stepped toward the vehicle. The driver-side window rolled down to reveal an elderly lady wearing a brown cape.
"Hi, My darling! It's been so long since I've seen you, Maggie!" she said in a cheery tone and a posh accent
"Hello, Granny." I sighed, remembering the stupid nickname she had for me. "C'mon, guys."
Tracks and Abby both had bewildered looks on their faces. They slowly made their way towards the minivan, wondering who this woman was. I climbed into the left-middle seat and Tracks sat to my right, while Abby floated behind us, making it look like she was sitting in the backseat.
"Where are you off to today, darling?" she asked, turning the van around in my driveway.
"You remember where Leo lives?"
"Oh, of course!"
She pulled out of the driveway and we started to drive down the road, passing farms and other houses. Tracks was staring out of his window at the country environment around him. I doubt he had ever been outside of England his entire life.
"Who is this handsome young man?" Granny asked, looking at Tracks through the mirror.
"My name's Tracks," he said enthusiastically.
"Aww, that's such a unique name!" Granny said in a caring manner. "And who is the beautiful young lady in the back? Is she your girlfriend, Tracks?"
"No-" Abby replied.
