At Rick's Home:
Every day is a new opportunity to change your life. And today you're gonna get your job back. Rick says to his mirage after putting on the neatly ironed shirt.
Besides it's not gonna be that difficult cause Jared himself had said that doors will be open for me. He recalls.
High on confidence. Rick steps out of his room.
Did you promise me or not? Yes, I did and I just need some time. Rick hears the muffled voices coming from the ground floor as he steps down. He sees the landlord and Jasmine arguing outside her room.
"What's happening here?" Rick asks, concerned.
"Oh, it's nothing, Rick. You don't need to get late for work for this," Jasmine tries to digress him from the topic.
"Anha...what's the matter, Reynold?" he asks, turning to the old man in his 60s.
"She promised me she'll be on time but her rent is still due from 2 months." Reynold lays down the fact plainly.
Rick takes his phone out, opens the money transfer app, and hands it to him. "Put the amount in here."
"You don't need to do this, Rick," Jasmine protests. "I just need some time."
Reynold types in the amount and hands back the phone. "It's done," Rick replies after sending money. Reynold leaves.
Rick says with a smile. "Add it to that list of pizza you have due on me. I want extra cheese."
"Thanks for the help Rick." She puts on a sappy smile.
"I'll always be there for you, No matter what," he replies.
She shakes her head in affirmation. "I know."
"Okay then I shall take a leave." He waves a bye.
Jasmine closes her door sighing. I hate myself. This shouldn't happen again. She thinks out loud.

At Rick's Office (Jared's Cabin):
"This is the list of people we're inviting to our company's party. Let me know if I missed someone." Amy hands over the list to her brother, Jared. He takes the list and takes a look at it.
Someone knocks on the door. "May I come in?"
"Yes, please," Jared replies, still looking at the list.
"Good Morning, Rick." Amy passes a smile.
"Good morning, Amy, good morning, Jared." Rick comes in and stands near Jared's desk.
"Morning Rick, what's up with you?" Jared asks.
Rick takes a deep breath. "Look, I need that job back. You had said the doors will stay open for me right?"
"Yes, I did but only if you tell me what changed your mind in just 2 days?" Jared asks, straightening his back.
I thought I had got my dream job. But turns out it's not the CIA CIA. Also, I'll not get paid for 3 months. Well, I have adequate savings but I don't wanna eat that up now considering I might get married soon.
Seeing Rick lost in thoughts and unable to answer. Amy feels bad for her hero. You have to do something Amy, else he'll lose his job. Speaks her inner calling. "We fought," she replies.
"What? Care to explain sis?" Jared eyes her in shock.
"We're in a relationship, 2 days back, we fought so he left the office. Now we're good so." She spins the web of lies.
