The Sleeping Giant

It was around six in the morning, the sun was already out and Seher had woken up to go to the bathroom. She tip-toed trying not to wake her sleeping husband. She slowly got under the covers. Yaman who was facing away from her turned over. Seher closed her eyes trying to fake being asleep just in case he woke up. However, she ended up opening them again when she realized that there was really no reason why.

She had caught herself in the past few days doing strange things like that. It had been hard to get used to being really married. She had never even been in a relationship before him and sometimes she totally forgot that it was okay to be relaxed and comfortable.

She smiled, feeling more at ease. Silly girl, she thought to herself feeling a bit amused.

Yaman was sleeping soundly. Seher smiled at how calm and peaceful he looked. She was about to reach out her finger to touch him when she stopped herself. She didn't want to wake him up. She wanted to savor the moment and just look at him.

Yaman Krimli, she thought to herself. My husband, she thought trying not to roll in the bed with happiness. She was married to Yaman Krimli and she couldn't even believe it. Calm down Seher, she thought.

In the past, she had never even imagined such a scenario. Love seemed something from the movies, something that was most likely difficult to attain. But it was there. The man she loved was laying right beside her.

She couldn't help but remember all those times. How she had wanted to get close to him and embrace him. To let go of her shyness and be a little brave. She had been jealous of Ela and how close they were. It irritated her that another woman was able to touch him and have him close while she could only look at him and hold his hands when people were around. She had felt jealousy and sometimes even hurt.

Yaman knew it. He had learned to read her expressions, to know when she was sad, angry, happy, or nervous. He also knew that he really did have an effect on her. His eyes looking at her made her cheeks flush and sometimes he could also make her shy with the words he said. She sighed with a small smile. Yaman continued to sleep. His chest rose and fell with every breath he took.

She felt like a little girl who was doing something she was not supposed to. It was like spying on a crush, like she used to do when he'd walk into the room when they weren't married yet. She took a deep breath and looked at him. He slept like a kid, with one hand under his head and the other right next to his body.

His eyebrows were slightly furrowed as if he was deeply considering something in his dream. Seher's eyes landed on his eyes. Especially, those long dark eyelashes of his that would flutter open and drove her crazy. She wanted to remember every little part of his features. His nose. His lips . Especially his lips; she wanted to come closer and kiss them. Kiss him, all of Yaman Krimli.

She smiled finally deciding to reach out her hand and touch his cheek. She did so slowly trying not to wake him. She could feel the adrenaline and her heart racing inside of her chest making it harder to breath. She felt excited, but at the same time kind of nervous. Her hand landed on his cheek. Yaman moved his eyebrows a bit, but didn't wake up. She found this as a good sign and slowly moved her hand to his earlobe and from there to his neck. Yaman slept like a rock and didn't even budge.

Seher frowned. She didn't want to wake him, but at the same time she also hoped that he would. After all, he wasn't normally such a deep sleeper. She ended up deciding to kiss his cheek, hoping that maybe he'd wake up. She leaned in slowly. As she got closer she could smell his scent. It was a mixture of lemon and cologne. His body was warm and she almost felt like just resting there right next to him--so close--but decided to just kiss him. The kiss was small and short. Yaman finally moved though his eyes were still closed. His hand found her waist and he pulled her into him. "Good morning," she said.

Yaman nodded, "Good morning,"

His eyes were still closed.

"What...time is it?" He asked in a low whisper. Seher shrugged, "I'm not sure, probably six thirty or seven..."

"We should sleep in," he said. Seher nodded, but she couldn't sleep. She only stared at her husband for a few minutes before going back to caressing his face. Yaman slowly opened his eyes probably a bit annoyed at his suddenly playful wife.

"I can't sleep if you keep doing that," he told her still whispering. His eyes were still adjusting to the light coming from outside. Seher looked at his eyelashes as they fluttered like butterflies.

"I'm sorry, I'm just not tired..." Her face was so full of innocence. Her sparkling big eyes were looking at him. His own gaze softened as he looked at her. There was no more tiredness in his features. They looked at each other for a few seconds before Yaman began to get closer to her.

He looked at her a bit suggestively before smiling. "Let's get you tired Mrs. Krimli," he whispered onto her ear before covering them both with the sheets. Seher chuckled.

"Let's sleep, let's sleep," she told him between chuckles while they were both under the covers.

"I'm not tired anymore," her husband told her with a mischievous smile before planting a small kiss on her lips.

"Okay, " Seher said with a happy smile, "lets not sleep then..."

Yaman chuckled. "Okay."

That is how the giant and his princess got busy, making Krimli babies on a fine Saturday morning.
