The King himself was there to welcome Edward and Anne at arrival, personally. He watched as the couple stepped out the carriage, Edward first, Anne next with his assistance.
Henry's curiosity peaked as two servant girls followed, gently clutching at small bundles in their arms.
However his attention was drawn back to the husband and wife before him.
Their clothing complimented each other's, the Lord in dark gold embroidered clothing and his wife, in an equally as flattering golden fabric hemmed with a thick gold thread. Her sleeves stopped just at her wrist, and her bust was decorated with her signature Boleyn necklace, her favourite piece. She let her skirts fall and released the hand of her husband before curtsying to Henry as if she were a mere noble rather than his ex wife.
"Greetings, Your Highness. It is much an honour to have you welcome my husband and I in such an intimate manner." She spoke, easing herself up and stepping back as Edward Seymour bowed and passed on his greetings.
"Congratulations are much in order. My Dearest Sister-In-Law has birthed the next King of England." The Boleyn woman smiled.
"Lord and Lady Seymour. I receive you with pleasure. Forgive the urgent request. My Jane is unwell at present. I suspect your presence shall cheer her up and greatly improve her health." The King replied, eyes falling to the maids.
Anne followed his gaze and turned, moving towards on of the girl's clutching at her babe. She gently took the child from her arms and cradled him softly, allowing for the girl to greet the King. The other maid passed the baby to her friend and also greeted him.
"Edward, my love, shall you hold our Carlisle? Poor Isabelle shall need a rest from carrying the young babe." The Seymour woman smiled.
Jane's brother moved towards her and gently took the child from the other servant's arms. Both girls thanked their superiors and were immediately ushered off by a royal maid to get some food, and to acquaint themselves with their bed chambers.
"The castle shall sure be lively with three babes to attend to." Edward smiled. "My Lady Anne has birthed me two very strong, good tempered sons. Old only 3 weeks and yet they made not a sound on the journey to your residence, My King. Lovely Jane has expressed to meet her nephews."
"Sons?!"
He was stunned.
"Strong, good tempered young boys. Twins, at that. Identical. Was it not so that the Ex Queen could not carry? Was it not so that she could not birth a strong child?"
"To our utmost surprise, we had not expected twins, let alone a son! When we found out Anne was with child, we did not expect such a surprise. We took leave for Kent to enjoy the fresh air at our other home. It did her and the babes much good. Very beneficial." Edward replied.
"Wow. It seems the young Prince shall not lack for company. Please, let us not remain out in the noon light. We shall settle you into the chambers prepared for you. I have situated your rooms close to Jane's quarters. Shall you wish to see her you may have easy access." Henry expressed.
And with a curt nod, he turned himself around and made his way inside, clicking his fingers in anger at the Lady Maids to take the Seymours in to their rooms.
