As she had been instructed to, Anne made her entrance at exactly 8 o'clock to tend to Jane. She was now adorned in a silk green gown, her precious Boleyn necklace still clasped around her neck.
She bowed to the King and Jane before speaking. "Lady Jane. Your humble servant is here to tend to you for the night."
Jane nodded and smiled, before standing up and stepping down from the throne. They both bid a goodnight to Henry and Anne walked with Jane to her bedroom. "Lady Anne, please, do not refer to me as Lady Jane when we are in person. Just Jane will do, you know." The Seymour woman told her.
"As you wish, Jane. And I would see it fit that I apologize for the way I behaved when I was on the throne. I was demanding and unreasonable. I was under so much pressure to birth a son. I'm glad I no longer have that duty. I have found my good self within your brother. He has shown me love like I have never seen before." Anne saw an ally in the future English Queen. She trusted her.
"Please, Lady Anne, do not apologise. I understand that we weren't on good terms but the past is the past. And I don't see a need to quarrel with my future sister in-law." Jane laughed a little and Anne found herself joining in.
"It's a pity your husband to be is keeping me apart from Edward. It is a matter that should be of no concern to the King yet he still decides to let his emotions best him of his will to forget me and leave me be. I have found peace. Your brother means everything to me..." The Boleyn woman sighed.
Jane stopped and gently grabbed Anne's hand to comfort her. "You're allowed to see him in my presence, is it not so? I'll call for him as much as I can in order for you to at least be close in some way apart from letters."
And from that, a sisterly bond was formed.
