"You are acquainted with each other?" Jennie popped up from Jisoo's side curiosity laced in her voice.

"I think we'll leave now." Lisa hushed everyone to the door since she recognised Bona as well.

"Huh why-" Ningning was left no room to argue as Lisa put her on her shoulder and left from the door, walking awkwardly past Bona without sparing her a glance.

"I should leave too-"

"But you just came?" Jennie kept shooting Jisoo and Bona confused looks, because why did they look so uncomfortable?

"Can I have a word with you love?" Jisoo tugged on Jennie's sleeve, speaking quietly, her tone urgent.

"Can we do that later?" Jennie asked in a gentle tone. "We have a guest."

"I'm good, do talk with her." Bona pressed her lips into a thin line while handing Jennie a potted plant. "My gift. I'll see you at work, I suppose."

And gone she was, leaving Jisoo to sigh deeply as she walked to the bedroom while Jennie trailed behind her, perplexed.

"That was a bit rude, don't you think so too darling?" Jennie folded her hands on her hips while staring at her wife who plopped on the bed, exhausted. "What was that about?"

"My mother... It was her for sure!" Jisoo grumbled, very upset. "She totally paid Bona to befriend you and somehow tear us apart!"

"What? I'm afraid I don't follow..." Jennie furrowed her eyebrows.

"It's one of her ploys! She is so shameless!" Jisoo flailed her arms in the air, distressed. "To think she'd pay my ex whom she paid to dump me to befriend my wife to tear us apart! How vile!"

"Baby calm down." Jennie took her arms and stopped them from punching the air. Then she sat beside her and enveloped her in a warm hug. "I didn't know your mother when I met Bona. She didn't do anything."

Jisoo turned quiet as Jennie wrapped her arms around her head and pulled her to her chest. Jisoo exhaled and melted into the embrace, letting the tension leave her shoulders the second Jennie dropped a kiss on her hair.

"She is your ex...?" Jennie whispered after a minute of silent snuggling.

"Mhm..." Jisoo mumbled, snuggling to bury her head into Jennie's shoulder. "Broke my heart and all..."

"Do you want me to resign?" Jennie asked without hesitation.

She didn't really want to end her friendship with Bona but if Jisoo wanted her to, she would try to reduce their time spent together and if necessary stop it for good.

A small pause followed, indicating that Jisoo was in fact considering her words. But after one more minute she shook her head and lifted it, her furrowed eyebrows surfacing on her face.

"I need to sleep this out to get my mind cleared."

"Okay." Jennie nodded her head, pecking Jisoo's forehead. "Take your time darling."

"Have you talked to Jennie yet? You know about her." Lisa asked while they were in the middle of closing up the diner.

"Not really. I mean I'm not happy she turned out to be that friend but telling her to stop working there and never talk to her again would be really macho-like, don't you think so too?" Jisoo voiced out her thoughts, wiping the tables clean.

"Compared to how you usually act maybe but it wouldn't be entirely unjustified, you know. If Rosé was friends with my ex I'd die out of embarrassment." Lisa added while counting the cash. "They'd so shit talk me."
