No one likes to be interrupted on their big day. Especially not Jennie. But what could she do really? There were to many of them and they were all men. It was an effortless act for them to drag the girls into the car and drive off. Well minus for Rosé, Lisa and Giselle who were left profoundly confused at the altar, they could only blink silently and think to themselves, what the hell just happened?
"Let us out!" Jennie bumped against the door, trying to escape but it was locked.
"You are wasting your energy." Jisoo slid her arm across Jennie's back and held her waist, pulling her close to her. "Let's just wait."
"Not to be a worrywart," Ningning spoke up, sitting on the far left in the backseat while Jisoo was in the middle and Jennie on the right. "But you should waste all your energy to escape. Heechul clearly is bringing us to our parents and they might behead you." She looked straight at Jisoo.
Even with the threat, Jisoo wasn't worried. She wouldn't let anything happen to Jennie and she would protect Ningning too if necessary. As for herself, she is not as touchable as they might think now. If Jennie's parents were to want a fight, she would give them one, even if that meant calling her mother for help. At the risk of oweing her and being her puppet again.
"It's okay." Jisoo pecked Jennie's temple and patted Ningning's head with her free hand. "Lean on me." Jennie visibly relaxed, she exhaled and found her breath evening out while Jisoo drew circles around her hips.
A few minutes later they arrived in the mansion Jennie recognised as the place she ran away from. So they got her. This was expected but she didn't expect to be caught so red-handed. Couldn't they have chosen another day?
The girls followed the men to the entrance and walked on the marble floor, seeing all the golden decoration on the stairs and tables. The antique cutlery, bright chandeliers, maids in every corner. Jennie didn't feel euphoric or in reminiscence upon seeing any of that.
There was just one thing that made her stop and stare. And that was the portraits of her, Ningning and her parents on the walls. Those were new. Is it to manipulate her, or did they not think that far and it was just redecoration?
"Ruby Jane." The cold voice of her father halted her.
She tilted her face and saw the man, along with his wife walk towards her. He handed Heechul a cheque and told him to leave. His other hand held a tobacco pipe loosely from his mouth.
"You were gone for a while." He sat on his chair and motioned for them to take a seat as well.
"Want something to drink?" He asked while his wife called a maid over to pour them some green tea into cups. None of them touched it and was focused on him.
Ningning peered to the two, telling them with her eyes to run while she would distract them. Jennie shook her head and took her arm to make her sit down as she signalled Jisoo to do the same.
"You had fun?" Jiyong asked Jennie with a gentle smile. The brunette kept quiet. "I'm sure you had your fun, playing around in the city. Why don't you tell us about it?"
Jennie pursed her lips, not sure if she really should say something or if her father was being sarcastic. Although he rarely makes joke.
"We were worried. You could have called." He continued talking in a concerned tone, making it seem like he cared about her absence.
"The point of running away is not looking back..." Jennie muttered, tensing up everyone but her father.
"I will look aside from the short trip you decided to take because it was your first rebellious act towards us." He chuckled, pulling the pipe out of his mouth and placing it in the pocket of his silk coat.
