"What about like Eli or like Micha." Miranda asked as she was scrolling through a list of boy names on her tablet while her and Ben sat in bed.
"I still like BJ because it stands for—." Ben was interrupted.
"Yes Benjamin Jr, you've only said it a million times so can you please think of something else."
"Sorry, what about Gavin, Ian, or Tristan so we can keep the T names going." Ben suggested.
"Honey, we already get confused tryin to say their names imagine if our baby has a T name."
"Miranda I feel like everything I suggest you just trash it or say it's not logical."
"I'm sorry Ben, just the name is so important and I guess you have a point of I keep bashing your names." Miranda put his chin between her thumb and index finger.
"It's okay baby, I know it's just the hormones talking." Ben kissed Miranda's bare stomach because she was wearing sweat pants ands a Nike sports bra.
"Excuse me, do you want to sleep on the couch."
"I was kidding". Ben lifted his shoulders and laughed.
The couple thought of some more names before the went to bed but Miranda woke up in the middle of the night and Ben heard her thinking.
"Baby what's up." Ben said in a deep voice.
"I was thinking what the baby is going to call your parents." Miranda sighed.
"Well Trinity, Tyler, and Trey already call them Grammy and Pops so figured he would call them that but what about your parents."
"We won't have to worry about that because that one night when they were talking about Justin kind of ruined our relationship."
"But babe it was a little mistake and plus it was like 6 or 7 months ago." Ben laid on his side and put his hand under his head.
"Ben, my mother was basing racist towards your friend and saying he didn't fit in when he clearly loves Danielle and she loved him."
"Well how about you think of something just in case but let's get off of this topic and figure out who's going to kiss each other first."
"You know you can't hold out." Miranda pressured Ben.
"Damn it you got me." Ben leaned into Miranda kissed her softly slipping her tongue as she bit his lip while they were close.
"Goodnight baby." Miranda cuddled into Ben.
"Goodnight honey and Goodnight my little munchkin." Ben kissed her belly and kissed the top of Miranda's head.
Ben woke up before Miranda and decided he would cook her breakfast since it was the weekend and they had to do some shopping for the baby room. Ben was downstairs cooking bacon, sausage, eggs, and biscuits. Before Miranda had walked down he poured her some orange juice.
"Ben this smells amazing." Miranda laughed and took a bite of the crispy bacon.
"Well I hope it taste amazing."
"It taste great." Miranda shoved a piece of sausage into her mouth.
Her and Ben fixed themselves a plate and sat down on the couch in the living room.
"So what all do you want to get for the baby today." Ben asked changing channels on the tv until he found a basketball game on.
"I figured we would get some clothes for him, the crib, some baby, and a couple other things but not many since we got a shut ton of stuff at the baby shower."
"Okay is Danielle or Veronica coming."
"Both actually, we are going to go pick Danielle and Veronica up at 12." Miranda finished eating and drunk some orange juice.
"Great." Ben mumbled under his breath.
"Ben I may be pregnant but I am not deaf."
"I said great because I'm exited to see them."
"I bet you did." Miranda pursed her lips together.
Ben an Miranda were on the way to get her sisters so that they could do some baby shopping.
"Hey y'all." Verona said as her and Danielle climbed in the back of Miranda's SUV that Ben was driving.
"Y'all ready to do some baby shopping." Miranda laughed.
"Of course, I'm already to spoil my nephew and he's not even here yet." Danielle rubbed her hands together.
"I think the only reason I'm coming is so that I can carry heavy things and put them in the trunk." Ben drive to the first baby store.
"You're also our chauffeur." Miranda laughed and so did everyone else.
They arrived at Carter's so they could find some cute baby clothes. While they were their Ben wandered off and found a couple of Nike outfits, one was a light blue long sleeve onesie shirt with navy sweatpants, another one was a onesie that had little Nike emblems on it, and the other one was a red short sleeve onesie shirt with navy shorts. He also found two pairs of Nike shoes for the baby, one was a white pair of air forces and the other was black sandals with a strap on the back.
"Look at what I found." Ben held up the outfits and shoes.
"Those are adorable." Veronica's voice got high.
"They are aren't they." Miranda said taking the outfits and shoes from Ben and put them in the shopping cart.
They picked out a few more outfits and went to Target to find a crib.
"Miranda is it okay if me and Veronica pay for the crib since you have done so much for us." Danielle asked walking into target with everyone.
"You guys aren't the one having a baby, we can pay for it, it's not a big deal." Miranda squeezed her sisters shoulder.
"Yeah but he is our nephew." Veronica added.
"Fine but that's all you're buying for the rest of the day." Miranda laughed.
While they were in Target they found a wonderful white crib that had a changing table attached to the side of it. The gray would math the other colors that they had like navy blue and light gray because they were neutral.
"Are you guys sure you want to pay for this because it's 300 dollars from each of you." Miranda tried to recognize with them.
"Yes Miranda we are sure." Danielle emphasized.
They went to the check out and when they got back to the car Ben put the crib in the trunk with Veronica's help.
"You two were such a big help." V got in the car and was out of breath.
"Hey I'm pregnant so blame Danielle if you wanna blame someone." Miranda put her hands in the air.
"She probably would have messed up her nails if she tried to help us." Ben laughed pulling out of the parking lot.
"You got that right." Veronica replied.
They got to Ben and Miranda's house and her sisters helped them unload the car and helped get the crib to the baby bedroom downstairs.
"I'll set it up by myself as long as you 3 get out of my hair because y'all would just be in they way." Ben went looking for the screwdriver and a couple other tools.
"Damn you don't have to tell me twice." Danielle left the room and went to the kitchen to pour herself and Veronica some wine.
"Sorry about that, Ben didn't really want to come shopping today and he's in a mood." Miranda rolled her eyes and sighed.
"Him and Justin are like the exact same person which makes sense since they have practically known each other forever." Danielle took a swig of the white wine.
"I hate that Justin missed the gender reveal party and couldn't be there to see the excitement in Ben's face." Veronica joined in.
"Yeah me too but basketball comes first, like I understand that he is in the NBA I just hate he is gone all the time and then I start think wha if he is with another girl or something like that." Danielle shook her head.
"Yeah but he does have a passion for it and is is really good at it." Miranda replied.
Ben finished putting the crib together and when he came out of the room, Danielle and Veronica were gone.
"Where did your sisters go." Ben wiped sweat from his forehead which turned Miranda on.
"They left about 30 minutes ago, they didn't want to bother you by saying goodbye." Miranda rubbed Ben's forearm.
"Was I really in that big of a mood."
"Well it was noticeable."
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to it's just that their want any guys with us and being around all three sisters was exhausting."
"You better watch it." Miranda stuck her finger out at Ben's face.
Around 7:30 Ben started cooking dinner for him and Miranda, shortly after they heard a knock come from their front door. Miranda went to open it while Ben was still cooking and she seen Ben's mom crying.
"Eileen, is everything okay." Miranda took her hand.
"Well not really it's Ben's father, he unexpectedly passed this morning and I've trued to woke up the nerve to come over here since him and Ben are so close." Eileen explained as Miranda started crying with her.
"Hey Miranda who's at the door." Ben threw a towel over his shoulder.
"Honey I'm so sorry, you should talk to your mom." Miranda wiped a tear away and walked to their bedroom.
Ben was nervous but him and his mom walked to the living room to talk.
"Ben it's your father he passed this morning from an unexpected heart attack." Eileen wiped her eyes with a tissue.
"Mom are you joking right now."
"I wish I was honey but I'm not and I know you and your father were close so you take as much time as you need to grieve and you, and your brothers and I will make the funeral arrangements."
"Mom I'm so sorry." Ben fell into his mother's arms busting into tears.
"Honey their is nothing you or I could have known and we will eventually get over this."
"Yeah mom but he won't get to meet my son."
"He will be watching and walking with him every step of the way." Eileen kissed the top of Ben's head and rubbed his back.
Eileen stayed til about 10:00 and Miranda and Ben fed her dinner and they talked about her husband and the good memories.
"Goodnight Eileen and I'm so sorry about Anthony." Miranda gave Ben's mother a hug and kissed her cheek.
"Thank you honey and make sure you and Ben come to the house tomorrow." Eileen hugged Miranda back and walked to her car.
Miranda walked to their bedroom and found Ben laying in the dark crying.
"Ben I am so sorry." Miranda cuddled up next to Ben and rubbed his cheek.
"Thank you baby but I'm still trying to figure out how he had a heart attack because he ate right and was in good shape, it just doesn't make since." Ben sniffled.
"Yeah it was unexpected but everything happens for a reason and maybe god done something like that so that our son would be okay and watch over him."
"That's sort of what my mom said but I just wish I could speak to him one last time or let me know that he is okay."
"I know baby but let's get some rest because your mother said for us to go to her house tomorrow." Miranda turned off her lamp and fell asleep as she was holding Ben.
Around 3:00 in the morning Ben felt something at the foot of his bed, when he woke up to see what it was he seen a silhouette of his father.
"Dad." Ben rubbed his eyes.
"Hey son I just wanted to let you know that I'm okay and that I'll be watching over your Anthony." the spirit of Ben's father said.
Ben was wondering who his father was talking about but when he blinked his eye the silhouette was gone.
"What the hell." Ben said as he laid back down.
Ben couldn't go back to sleep so he just laid awake with his eyes open. Finally morning approaches and he sees Miranda trying to get into a comfortable position.
"You okay baby." Ben whispered.
"Yeah I'm just trying to find a comfortable position." Miranda sighed and rubbed her stomach.
"Well maybe i can help with that." Ben smirked.
He lifted Miranda's shirt over her stomach and kissed her pregnant belly.
"Whoa do you feel that." Miranda's eyes got wide.
"Yeah he's kicking me right in the jaw." Ben laughed and rubbed his jaw.
They laid in bed for a while til Ben brought up that he seen his dad last night.
"Miranda I thinks my dads spirit was in our bed last night." Ben exhaled.
"Do what."
"No I'm serious because I seen him at the foot of the bed and he told me that he was going to be their for our Anthony and when he said that I go confused."
"I think he named out baby." Miranda smiled.
"What do you mean."
"He said that he would be their for our Anthony so I think he meant he wants us to name the baby Anthony."
"Well damn." Ben started crying and Miranda comforted him.
"I guess we have a name." Miranda kissed the top of Ben's head and stroked his stomach.
