Say You Will be Forgiven

Harry sighed as he continued to try and gather his thoughts on what he wanted to say to Louis when he saw him next. His number one priority was to make sure that he stayed sane during this whole trial because Harry knew more than anyone that Louis would stress out over every little thing and drive himself into the ground just by trying to take care of his family.

Harry would be sure to take care of him, despite the memories it would evoke.

After telling Niall the news and showing him the song that Louis had sent him, they discussed their game plan to be there for the Tomlinson clan. Harry would leave tonight as soon as he could after his show and Niall would leave on a flight this morning.

Looking up at the clock, Harry noted that it was about the time that Niall's flight should be taking off for Heathrow from Phoenix Sky Harbor, a flight that he wishes that he was on. Unfortunately he has to settle with a flight tonight from LAX to Heathrow in order to get there as soon as possible.

Harry expressed to Niall that he thought the voice message and the song was Louis' way of testing the waters with him to rebuilding their relationship. Niall of course was ecstatic that Louis finally reached out, but of course had to be brought back to Earth when Harry told him that he doesn't want anything halfway like this.

"I want effort, and I appreciate what he's done," He said to himself, "but I won't take any cop-outs either."

Looking over the music that he has on the table in front of him in his hotel room, the list of songs that he had written for Amy caught his eye along with a list next to it.

He picked it up and looked it over and saw a song and recalled the lyrics, These fit the situation perfectly, he thought then looked at the other list which had some other songs from Amy's friend Sharon's band. He saw another song that also expressed how he was feeling.

I'll cover both of those songs and Louis will see them at some point, Harry mused, He probably won't see them tonight, or even tomorrow, after all he's quite stressed, but that's fine.

Harry was okay with waiting a few days because he was never one to be too demanding. He also knew that taking care of family was more important right now, so he wasn't going to put his "needs" above that of Louis' family.

Decision made, Harry began to turn his mind toward his feelings on the whole situation with the woman who in another life could very easily have been his mother-in-law. He looked at a particular ring on his left hand, the very same one that Louis gave to him with a promise, a promise to always be his. Harry never took it off in the possibly insane hope that they would get back together. A memory of a little blond boy flashed in his mind.

Harry began to blink back tears at the thought.

He opened his notebook and began to write some phrases and individual words, sometimes crossing out words or even entire phrases if they don't fit with the aesthetic of the song that he's working on.

Time continues to pass and in the end he still doesn't have a complete song, but has at least the baseline for some ideas on the song that he wants to write in honor of Jay and for the Tomlinson family in general.

***Later that night***

Harry is trying to hurry through the show, while also trying to not make it obvious that he was trying to rush through everything just so he could get the fuck out of there and straight to the airport. He honestly wasn't sure how successful he was on the "not being obvious" part.

He really couldn't give two shits about that though.

He took a couple of seconds to slow down because it's gotten to the point in the show that's the most important. The part that Louis will need to hear at one point to truly understand where he's coming from, and to tell him to take care of what he does, should things go in the direction Harry thinks it's going in.
