HER PRESENCE ALONE WAS MAKING EVERYONE SHIVER. THE CRUEL QUEEN WHO NEVER LOVED HER DAUGHTER.
That's what everyone thought of Yuuei's queen. The one who married for fortune and wealth, whose husband died while she was merely 19, married from the early age of 16, a child who birthed another child.
M/N have always hated her daughter, at least from her early years. She never spent time with her, always letting the court ladies take care of her spouse, never even daring to wish a happy birthday to the young girl, who started calling mother after the head maiden at the early age of 4.
She never got to see Y/N grow, she never learned what she liked or hated, she simply watched her from her bedroom window. Seeing how she played along the flowers in the garden. Then watching and listening to the way she played the violin, to the point she never got to see her in the garden from under the window again. It all stopped when the princess turned 15, she realized her mother did not want to see her, so she stopped coming to "see her," to perform for her, her favorite songs, picking and watering her favorite flowers. She only became the next line to the woman whom she got to see only at dinner, when only formalities were exchanged.
M/N wished something good for her daughter, even if she never got the chance to love her, to cherish her. Seeing her in the way she presented herself now, it was so strange and so outrageous that she could not understand.
"What is the meaning of this?" her firm voice made the guard retreat, as they surely did not want to assist
"Mama?" hearing her daughter call her mother was a rare sight, it almost made her warm up
"What are you wearing?" she was angry "Get back here, now! A princess should not stand near such a barbaric beast" her words were full of venom
"Bakugou is not a barbarian" it was the first time she stood up to her mother
"A princess does not-" she was cut off by her daughter
"I am not a princess!" her voice echoed through the empty room "I am the queen" her voice was almost threatening
"How dare you-" she was caught off again
"The moment I turned 18, I became the queen. That's what the law says, and as queen, I can do whatever I desire"
"Foolish child! That's not how it works, you're talking nonsense. Stop acting immature and come back here, now!" her voice was demanding
"Mother, I don't wish to marry king Todoroki. I do not wish to remain in the palace. Please, listen to my wish, at least now" her heart was aching, to hear her daughter so hurt
"Listen to your daughter, your highness" Todoroki's voice echoed through the room as he snuck in
"Your majesty, this is not-" she was cut off by Momo's voice, who walked along with Shoto
"Old hag, listen to your spouse, you may lose her for good if you don't"
"Who are you filthy pirates to talk to me that way?" she spat out
"She's my personal guard, miss Yayorozu" the king made his point clear, preventing the woman from attacking the black haired girl any longer
"Say your will, child" she finally gave in, ready to listen to the princess
"I don't want to stay for my entire life inside the walls of a palace. I want to see the world, I want to know what it has to offer, to learn more than any teacher could ever show me. And I want to do it with him, with Bakugou. Because I love him mother, I truly do. And I wish to marry out of love"
M/N found herself in her daughter's desires. She remembered being like this when she was even younger than her. But she didn't have this choice, she was forced to end her childhood and dreams for the dream of her own mother. And from that day on she despised her from the bottom of her heart.
"Do you love my daughter?" she asked as she looked at the man with the pirate hat
"More than anything in this world" he replied as he held her hand in his
The queen sighed deeply, not sure if what she was about to do would be the best decision of her life, but she wished to see her daughter happy, one more time.
"Very well. You may do as you please, but under one condition" she looked at her daughter with warm eyes and a bright smile "You shall return after your expedition and rule the kingdom. With or without your little..." she was not sure how to call Bakugou
"Fiancé" she said with a smile, making Bakugou blush slightly
For the first time in her life, M/N felt warm inside as she saw how truly happy her daughter was, as she got the chance to choose for herself, making and building her own future, against the royal rules that destroyed her own life.
Bakugou finally found himself a treasure worth more than any gold and jewels out there, he found love.
