THE WEATHER WAS COLD, MAKING THE GIRL SLIGHTLY SHIVER AS THE WIND BLEW HER HAIR IN ALL DIRECTIONS.Noticing how cold she was, Bakugou wrapped his fur coat around her figure, wanting to keep her warm.
The Northland was the coldest one out there. They had 9 months of the year's heavy snow and ice cold weather. It was known as the ice jewel on the land. But despite the low temperatures, people loved to come and visit, sailing good miles just to get their hands on some regional products.
The Northland was also known for its very young king, the youngest out of the four children Endeavor had. Y/N knew this land way too well, as the king was her childhood friend, Shoto Todoroki, the strange looking boy with a pretty face, as she remembered him. She was supposed to come here on her birthday, but due to the incident she never seemed to arrive.
Now she knew that she was stripped in one way or another from her royal title, so she did not need to act as if she was an important guest, but rather as a simple visitor, just like everyone else on the crew.
"You seem to like it here" Bakugou said as he noticed the smile creeping on her face
"It reminds me of the happy memories I had as a child" she smiled back at him
"You've been here before?" he asked, curious to know more about the woman he loved
"Yes, many times. It was the only place outside the palace that I was allowed to visit. Although I never got to see the town itself, I was always spending my time at the court, playing with the Todoroki's" she confessed
"So you know the snob?" he clicked his tongue
"Todoroki is a kind man. I'm somehow sad that I won't be able to see him for this visit"
They put the chatting aside as everyone else wanted to go and roam around the town. Some wanted to taste the cold brews the restaurants had to offer, others wanted to check out the winery for some boiled red wine, and others wanted to go on a quick shopping spree, as here were the most beautiful clothes.
"Captain, mind if I borrow her?" Jiro asked Bakugou as she linked arms with her friend
"Whatever, just guard her at all times"
Sometimes Y/N felt weak, being treated by Bakugou like she was some rare jewel that needed to be kept under watch at all times. She knew how to defend herself, as she learned on the ship, and she was surely much more than just a stuck up clueless princess.
"Where to, your majesty?" Jiro joked as her eyes traveled across the many shops
"I would love to see the dresses, it's been too long since I've worn a proper one" she smiled a bit embarrassed by how she couldn't strip of her old habits
"Sure thing! To the dress shop we go!" she cheered as she dragged Y/N along with her
Jiro loved to spend time with the princess. It was rare for her to meet someone so sincere. Usually, no matter how close she got with the other women on the ship, they were all looking for their own good at the end of the day, none really caring about the person next to them. But she got used to it, after all maybe it was in their nature as pirates, right?
"I love this blue one" the princess said excited as she looked at the pretty embroidery on the dress
"It goes well with your skin tone" Jiro complimented her friend
She was aware that the princess had no real idea of how money worked or their value, but she also knew Bakugou would be stubborn enough to spend a fortune just to see Y/N happy.
"That ones a bit too pricey. How about the red one?" she suggested
Her eyes sparkled as she looked at the crimson red dress, its color reminding her of his eyes. Too excited by the newfound dress, she barely noticed the older woman who gazed at her figure, almost as if she had seen a ghost.
"Princess!?" the woman suddenly exclaimed, catching the attention of everyone in the store
"Madame Sarah?" she gasped as she recognized the old lady as her court maiden
"Thank heavens! This is a miracle!" she ran towards her, wanting to embrace the girl, as if she wanted to check if she was really there
But a sharp sword stood in her way, blocking her from reaching the princess.
The gloomy eyes of Jiro looked down at the woman, holding Y/N's wrist tightly.
"Who are you, old hag?" she gritted her teeth
"Jiro, it's fine. She's one of my court lady's" she assured her friend
The woman was still in shock to see the princess alive and well after such a long time. But what shocked her even more was the strange attire she was wearing: the leather boots and the short dress, that revealed way too much skin, the fur cape and so on.
"We must hurry to the palace! Right now! Your mother is here" she said almost afraid
"Mama?"
In no time the royal guards filled the store, taking Y/N by force and dragging her with them to the imperial palace. Despite Jiro's attempts to save her, she was restrained by the numerous men who came to take the princess.
"Let me go! Do you know who I am?" she tried to escape their grasp
"Please, your majesty, don't scream, you will hurt your voice" the maiden scolded the young princess
"When mama will hear about this, you will all be decapitated!" she shouted back at the guards
"Princess, your mother requested this as soon as we find you" the maiden assured the girl whose tears were streaming down her cold face
She did not want to go back, she was finally happy and free with Bakugou, as a member of the crew, as someone who could make their own decisions, but it seemed like the crown could never be stripped off of a royal's head.
