"Charlotte! C'mon get up" I woke up to the faint screaming of Polly calling me. I quickly jumped out of bed knowing she would have my head If I wasn't down the stairs in the next 20 minutes. I showered, brushed my teeth, done my hair, put on my red dress and ran down the stairs practically taking the steps two by two

"God Charlotte, would you ever wear a different colour than red" Polly said to me while quickly putting jam on some toast. Red is my favourite colour, ever since I was young I had always loved red even though Polly wasn't the biggest fan of it, she had always said it was the devils colour. Despite that, everyday I wore something red whether it was a dress, shoes, something In my hair, or jewellery. It would be weird if I didn't wear red it was practically what I was known for here in Small Heath, that and being the youngest Shelby sister.

"Right anyway, Charlotte and Finn I need you two to run to the bakery and Maggie will know what to give you ""okay" I said, quickly trying to eat my toast while Finn sighed." Why do I have to go"He protested." Because Finn last time I sent you, you and Isaiah decided you would eat the bloody bread and pastries on the way back and Charlotte can't go on her own so now off you go" Polly said ushering us out the door.

As we walked out of the bakery with our fresh bread and pastries, so fresh they were still warm. Finn saw Isaiah. Isaiah Jesus.God, he was gorgeous, but my brothers would kill me, well not me but him. " you going to the garrison later" Isaiah asked with his cigarette hanging out of his mouth. "Yeah I'll be there at 8" Finn replied. They talked for a few more minutes, and then we left.

"Can I come" I asked Finn while we were walking back home." Come where Charlotte"
"Later, to the Garrison please" I begged " Just ask Tommy, Arthur or John" He sighed walking into the betting shop.

"Where's my favourite brother ?" I asked walking through the betting shop." There he is" I hugged Tommy trying to suck up to him." Ya ya  what do you want" He replied barely hugging me back. I sat down on his desk swinging my legs off the side as Tommy sat down in his chair." Well maybe I could come to the Garrison later "I said running my fingers across some papers on his desk "No" he replied sternly not even looking up from the work he was doing "No?" "No" he replied again. Once he looked up from whatever he was doing I gave him a pleading look "You know that doesn't work on me" He said.

"John" I said while jumping off the table hoping he would help me convince Tommy "I'm not your favourite brother so no" he said raising his eyebrows. I walked over to Arthur's desk and gave him the same look I gave Tommy "Pleaseeeeeee" I was practically on my knees begging him at this stage I just wanted to see Isaiah, but the look always worked on Arthur."C'mon Tom just let her come what harm will it do" Arthur shouted across the shop to Tommy so he could hear him."Fine but no drinking and I mean that" He said pointing his finger at me." Yes. Thank you" I said. I could've leapt into his arms I was so happy." where's my thank you" Arthur said pretending he was annoyed "Thank you" I said giving him a hug

John coughed to get my attention and opened his arms for a hug"Fuck Off you were no help" I said jokingly walking out of the betting shop. I walked into the kitchen where Polly and Ada were sitting drinking tea. I sat down across from them smiling." What's got you so happy" Polly asked while pouring me tea" Tom said I'm allowed to go to the garrison tonight" "Oh and Isaiah will be there" I added."Oooo my baby sisters got a crush" Ada said twirling my straight brown hair." be careful" Polly said "why?" I questioned worriedly." He's a blinder and Finns best friend just don't leave your brothers find out" She warned me" I'll be fine Pol" "What are you gonna wear" Ada asked excitedly "it's only the garrison Ada I'll just stay in these"I said pointing at the clothes I was wearing. "have you ever even talked to him before" Ada asked "Yes.no.kind of" I answered.

We've never really had a proper conversation.We say hello when we pass on the street and if he comes over with Finn he'll say how are you but other than that there's nothing.

"Well your gonna have to talk to him" Ada said "ugh I'll try I don't even know what to talk to him about" "I don't know Char ask him about cars,horses anything just try talk to him" Ada said.After awhile Polly left the kitchen."So how's things with you and Freddy" I asked Ada once I knew Polly couldn't hear me "Shhh"She said putting her finger against her lip "Don't say his name so loudly anyone could hear you"
"Oh for goodness sake Ada,who's going to hear me ?"I asked "I don't know I just need to be careful but everything's fine,perfect actually.I'm tired of sneaking around with him though" she replied.You could see her eyes light up when she talked about Freddy. "Maybe you should just try tell Tommy"I said.Even I knew that wouldn't work but I had to try give her hope."Ha ha very funny Char"she replied with an annoyed look on her face.
