It was Thursday.I was going on my date with Isaiah tomorrow and I had already picked out my dress,shoes and purse.Ada was going to help me get ready tomorrow.

I had nothing to do so I decided to go find Tommy.I walked through the betting den,greeting John and Arthur on the way too Tommy's office.I gently knocked on the door and I heard a quiet "come in"so I opened the door and walked in."Hi Tom"I said"Oh Hi Lotts,everything alright?"He asked "yeah everything's fine,just wondering if you wanted to go for a walk and I dunno know get Ice cream or chips or something"I asked "I'm really busy Lotts,maybe another day yeah"Tommy said."For fucks sake Tommy"I said sighing,walking over and slapping the back of his head."What was that for"He said,rubbing the back of his head."Everytime I ask to spend time with you it's always oh I'm too busy Lotts or oh I'm too tired"I mocked."Well I'm sorry I'm just really busy nowadays,business is booming you know"Tommy sighed,not even looking up from his paperwork."Ya whatever Thomas"I said.

I could feel the tears start to well up in my eyes and a lump starting to form in my throat but I refused to break in front of him.I won't let him see me in a weak state.

I quickly walked to the door and opened it so he wouldn't see me cry."Charlotte,wait"I heard Tommy call."What now"I sighed,turning back around to face him."Look Charlie I'm sorry alright.Ever since me and the boys have come back from war I just realised how much you've grown up.Your not the same little girl anymore Charlotte,I don't know what to talk to you about anymore.I don't know what you like anymore.I don't know anymore Lotts"Tommy sighed."Well then,why don't we go do something we did before you left for war"I smiled "Ok what do you want to do then"Tommy smiled back."I have a few ideas,come on let's go"I said,pulling Tommy out of his chair.

I dragged Tommy to the horse stables."Hi Curly"I greeted."Hi Charlotte,blueberries down there,just groomed her"Curly smiled,pointing to the last stable."See you later Curly"I said,pulling Tommy to the last stable.

"Okay,your going to ride snowflake and I'll ride blueberry"I told Tommy."Why exactly did you pick those names"Tommy laughed "Well snowflake is white like a snowflake and blueberry is black but I don't like blackberries so I chose blueberry"I explained "Fair enough"Tommy chuckled.

We rode the horses for about an hour and then brought them back to the stables."Where next ?"Tommy asked,following me"can't tell you,you'll just have to wait and see"I replied.I dragged Tommy along to a lake we used to swim in before the war."No way Char"Tommy chuckled."Yes way now come on straight in"I laughed,taking off my shoes."what am I going to wear"Tommy asked"Your clothes you pussy,just jump in"I laughed.Tommy reluctantly walked closer to the lake.I grabbed his hand and stepped back a bit."3,2,1"Me and Tommy counted down together.Once we reached one we ran and jumped into the freezing cold lake.

I swam back up to the top of the lake,gasping for air.Tommy popped his head out of the water not long after me.I pushed my hair out of my face and wiped the water from my eyes."See that's not so bad"I said,smiling at Tommy."It's fucking freezing you mad bitch"Tommy laughed"Oh come on just live a little Tom"I chuckled."I will,just some place warmer"Tommy said"Alright then if your going to keep complaining let's get out then"I said,pulling myself out of the lake and offering my hand to Tommy.

We walked to our next destination after drying off a bit.Tommy had his arm swung around me as we walked with the sun beaming down on us.We got an ice cream and sat on a bench outside the shop."Did John give you the gun yesterday"Tommy asked,his mouth full of ice cream."yes"I said,smiling,pulling the gun out of my bag."wanna see how good my aim is"I asked "Cmon let's go"Tommy said,standing up.On the way to the field that John took me to yesterday,me and Tommy had both finished our ice creams.

"See those bottles"I said,pointing at a row of glass bottles that were leftover from yesterday.Tommy nodded in response"I'll hit five in a row,first try"I said proudly.I pointed the gun at the glass bottles and just as I had said,I got five of them in a row on the first try.I smiled when I put my gun back in my bag looking at Tommy who walked over and gave me a high five.

We walked back home together and walked into the kitchen.I heard Polly sigh as she heard us slam the front door."Why are you both wet"Polly asked,taking a drag of her cigarette."We went swimming"I replied."You two haven't done that since before the war"Ada said."Things are changing now"I replied,smiling.

It was now 2 o clock in the morning.I laid awake in bed,thinking about my date with Isaiah tomorrow.I couldn't tell if the butterfly's in my stomach were from me being nervous or excited.My thoughts about me and Isaiah's date were soon interrupted as I heard Finn stumble through the front door,knocking the lamp in the hall on his way in.I heard him falling up the stairs and his footsteps got closer to my bedroom door.He stumbled in the door and flopped down on the bottom of my bed.

"Goodnight Charlie"Finn stuttered.He attempted to kiss my forehead but due to being so drunk he kissed my eye instead.He laid at the bottom of my bed for another few minutes until I heard him gagging"Finn get sick in my bedroom and I will beat the living shit out of you"I whisper shouted,trying not to wake everyone up.He quickly got up and ran out of my bedroom,tripping on his way out."Finnegan Shelby do not get sick on the floor"Polly shouted from her bedroom but it was too late.Finn had already gotten sick on the floor."Oh no"I heard Finn say before he got sick again and then proceeded to fall asleep on the floor as Polly cleaned up his sick.I chuckled to myself before falling asleep.God I love this family
