((Neji's POV))
It has been a week since I brought Shizuka back. He was still unconscious, but was stable and breathing. He was alive, just not awake. I could tell people knew I was worried. I tried hard not to show any care for that stupid little teen, but it was difficult.
I sighed. I was walking into the hospital and towards Shizuka's room when I heard Tsunade speaking to a nurse.
"He hasn't woken yet." The nurse said.
"Maybe we should give up. It has been a week. He can't live longer without food." Tsunade replied harshly.
"He is just a boy, give him time." The nurse pleaded.
"One more week. Then, we pull the plug if he doesn't wake up."
I didn't wait for the nurse's reply, I went straight to Shizuka's room.
"Shizuka Tomoko! Wake up." I shook the unconscious- pale boy.
Nothing happened.
Nothing happened for the next week. Then, that day came. The day they would put Shizuka out of his misery. Every ounce of my being was weighed down by grief and sorrow. It was my fault he got stabbed, I wasn't there to protect him.
I let my ego get the best of me and now he was dead.

Around evening, there was a group of people in his hospital room. All of our friends, Tsunade, and a few nurses. Naruto was crying so hard and Choji and Shika were tearing up a bit.
A blonde nurse was waiting for the signal to pull the plug. But something happened, after two weeks...
He woke up.
I never, ever thought I would feel relieved to see those bright blood red eyes again. Something compelled me to hug him and I did. I hugged that small, frail boy like he was about to disappear.
I had not realized I was even crying.
((Shizuka's POV))
I felt weak, like super weak, I want a lollipop.
I sighed. I decided, since no one can read my mind, I need to get up.
I opened my eyes and saw white. White walls and a white ceiling. Hospital? What...
Then it hit me, no like seriously something hit me.
Soft, dark brown hair hit my face as the person hugged me. I felt warmth on my shoulders and realized they were tears. When the strange person lifted their head, I gasped.
"Neji?" I was super confused. My voice felt raw, like I haven't used it in years.
"H-Hey. Tomoko. You are awake. Finally." Neji smiled, his eyes releasing small tears from their lavender pools.
"SHI-CHAN!" I was attacked again by a yellow thing. Naruto.
I smiled and sighed. "Hey, Naruto. Mind telling me where I am?"
"You are in the hospital." Some big breasted lady said. I looked at her.
"Why? And who are you?" Then I remembered. The searing pain from being stabbed and then... nothing. I know I did something, I remember killing the men and grabbing the scroll. But how, I dunno.
"And I am the new Hokage, Tsunade. Sarutobi was sadly killed last week. Another story for another time." Tsunade said.
"And you were on a mission. And an enemy stabbed you. You got mad and grew wings." Neji spoke softly.
"Wings?" I and the entire group in the room asked.
"Yes, big purple wings with gold on them. It was weird. I think he might be a demon or something." Neji spoke while looking around the group of people.
"Wings?" I muttered. Could it be?
"What is your clan, kid?" Tsunade asked me.
"Tomo clan." I whispered.
I felt the tension get dense. I looked up at her and noticed she was pale. Like scared pale.
"T-Tomo clan?" She shakily asked.
"Yes. Is that wrong?" I replied.
"No, they just.. They went to war about 12 years ago. I am surprised any lived. They had a civil war and no one survived. Well, a few did. But they have probably hidden themselves away and changed their names." Tsunade relaxed slightly, but barely.
I sat up, carefully, and Neji helped me. Since when is he so helpful.
"Can I go home?" I asked the nurse.
"Sure. You seem perfectly fine. Neji, could you make sure he takes this once in the morning." The nurse handed Neji a bottle of healing pills.
"Alright." Neji nodded. He put the pills in a pouch before picking me up, bridal style.
"Hey. What gives, Neji!" I clung to his shirt. He was surprisingly strong.

After an hour walk, we reached our home. Neji set me down and unlocked the door.
"How long was I out?" I looked at Neji.
I saw guilt cross those pools of lavender. "Two full weeks." His voice was heavy with guilt.
"Neji. You know none of this is your fault. I should have paid more attention. I got stabbed and it's okay. I am better now." I smiled brightly. A small smile formed on his face.
"Alright. Now go make me some food." He chuckled and I giggled. I walked into the kitchen and saw my lollipop jar. I stuck a strawberry lollipop and sighed as random energy surged through my body.
"What do you wanna eat?" I looked at Neji as he entered after me.
"Doesn't matter. Something easy, so you don't hurt yourself." Neji pointed out.
"Alright. How about pasta!" I smiled and he nodded. I took out the pasta and reached for the pot on the top shelf. "Ow!" I groaned as my side felt like it tore opened.
"Shizuka!" Neji was by my side in a split second. "Are you okay? Maybe we just order delivery."
I looked up at him. Those pools of lavender full of guilt again. "Neji?" I placed my hand on his cheek, my good hand. "I am okay. I just forgot about the wound. If you want take out, we can go get it. Or you can get the pot and I can cook."
"How about we don't eat. It's late anyways." Neji suggested, his head leaning into my hand unknowingly.
I smiled. "Okay fine, but I am cooking breakfast in the morning." I kissed his cheek before heading to my room.
I left Neji in the kitchen with a shocked expression from the good night kiss on the cheek.
After 15 minutes, I heard his door shut.
This will be an interesting week now.
