The tv plays loudly as Alec and I chill, cuddled up on the couch watching. It's finally spring break and we get 2 weeks off. So we plan to spend the most of it with each other. Alec would receive text messages here and there, and at one point his phone was ringing with calls. I wonder who could that be. But then I realize that it's not my business and that I'm not going to be a nosey girlfriend who wants to know where their significant other is 24/7.

The movie comes to an end and we both get up and wash the dishes. "I'll be right back." Alec says and grabs his phone and heads to the backyard.

I don't mind. But I do want to know who is on the other end. Will Alec tell me? No Briar, Alec will tell you when he wants to. If he wants to. Please want to. Okay maybe I am nosey. But not that nosey.

Alec comes back into the living room 15 minutes later. "Everything okay?" I ask. He just nods his head and grabs his bag. "Where are you going? I thought you were staying over?" I ask. Why is he leaving. He promised to stay with me.

"I uh, had something to do at home. I'll see you tomorrow." He says quickly and heads for the door.

"Text me when you get home safe. It's dark out." I quickly say as he shuts the front door. Weird. What was that all about?

With a sigh I head upstairs to take a long shower. After a good half an hour, I come out of the bathroom to check my phone to see if Alec had texted. He didn't.

It's been 3 days. 3 days since he told me that he'd see me 2 days ago. What is going on with him. I have even went over to his house to see is he was there, but his mother told me he went out. He sure has been going out a lot lately. Ever since that phone call he seemed off. Distant even. I really don't want things to end like this.

We were doing just fine. Is he okay? I know I sound like a freak over wondering what is going on with him but he's my boyfriend and I feel like I should know these stuff. He'll tell me when he wants to. That's what I keep on telling myself.

I head back home from checking his house again. I even called Diego to see if he knows anything about Alec but he told me he knows nothing. Alec didn't even bother to tell his best friend. Something is definitely wrong.

2 days later I still haven't heard anything from Alec. And we only have a week of spring break left. I called and texted him but he never bothered to respond. Today I decide to head back over to his house and see what the heck is going on. And this time I will get answers.

Mustering up the courage I storm to his house and knock on the door. His mother opens it with a curious face. "Briar? Hi again. Do you need anything?" She asks concerned as to why his son's girlfriend keeps on making an appearance to his house. Well if Alec would talk to me I wouldn't be here right now.

"Is Alec home?" I ask her. I know she would never lie. I don't even know if she knows what's going on with her son.

"Yes he's upstairs. Is everything okay?" She asks as I stalk pass her and up the stairs to Alec's room.

"Everything is fine." I reply back.

I come to a stop as Alec's room appears in front of me. Just open the door Briar. Don't get nervous. Don't chicken out. You're here for answers. Open the door. And so I do. I open the door without knocking.

"What the fuck?" Alec grumbles as he rubs his eyes open. I sigh with relief as I push away the images I created when thinking of opening his door. "Briar? What are you doing here?" He asks with that tired voice of his.

"What's going on with you?" I ask as I shut the door close and sit on his desk chair. "You haven't been answering me. You've been......distant lately."

"I just had stuff to do." Was his reason. That's such an awesome excuse.

"You're sleeping." I point out.

"I was tired."

"You could've answered me." I shoot back. I'm growing frustrated. Why is he acting like this?

He grumbles something and stands up. "Why are you here?"

"Excuse me? I'm sorry for being worried about my boyfriend and why he isn't talking to me."

"Well you don't need to be worried. I'm fine. It's spring break Briar, the least you could do is give that to me. You've been constantly craving for attention and I just can't always be there to give it to you. You're clingy Briar. Clingy. I don't need someone like that in my life. I need my space. You're always there Briar. Even when I don't want you to be. We do not need to be with each other all the damn time!" He says loudly.

I'm pretty sure his mom heard what he just said. And I for sure heard it. Ouch. That hurts. Tears try to break through but I hold them back. Did he really just say that to me? I mean in a way I guess I am clingy. And I am always there. It is spring break and I should give it to him.

"You want a break from me? Then you can have it." I say and walk out of his room. Leaving the door open because I know how much people hate it when someone does that.

I walk past his mother who has a very worried look on her face. "Briar sweety what's wrong?" She asks, gripping my arm to stop me. "What did he do?"

"Nothing. We're just taking a break, it's what he wanted." I reply and wipe a fallen tear away from my cheek.

Wow. I guess I didn't expect that. He could've at least talked to me about it. He didn't have to go hiding from me. We could've talked it out like a couple. But he wants a break from me and so he's gonna have it.
