"Your room is exactly how I would've pictured it." Odessa stated letting out a small chuckle. Iris let her shoulders relax a bit and made her way to her bed to set her things down and get situated. "thank you, I guess." Odessa stood still for some reason almost nervous to move from her spot. Iris peered at her from the side of her eyes. "You can just set your things by my door and sit wherever." With that Odessa moved to situate herself on the end of Iris' bed.The two sat up talking and laughing for what felt like both thirty minutes and twelve hours at the same time now both holding a beer each. Telling small almost insignificant stories, or so they thought. They ranted while the other took note, Getting to know each others personalities felt like a privilege unworthy of holding. "No, you mean to tell me he professed his love to you.. and you ran?!" Odessa practically shrieked while almost falling over laughing. Iris on the other hand had her face buried in a pillow in her lap trying to hide her laughter. "Well what did anyone expect? I was fifteen and it was in the middle of a bloody school dance for goodness sakes!" Odessa skin was hot from laughing. "I mean you've got a point I guess." Odessa fell almost silent letting out a few last chuckles while watching Iris take a sip of her drink. Iris noticed Odessa's gaze on her and tensed a little. It was unclear of whether it was the alcohol in her system or just her sudden burst of confidence to be so blunt but it slipped out of her mouth.
"You're doing it again." She said holding her gaze on her bottle.
"Doing what?" Odessa asked in confusion
"Starring"
Odessa scoffed feeling her skin heat. "What? I don't do that."
"Yes you do." Iris was tryin her best to hold back a cheeky smile.
"I do not." Odessa said stumbling over her words slightly.
"Oh.. That's unfortunate." Iris now fully smirking still not daring to lift her eyes to Odessa's.
Odessa felt taken back by her response. Did she want her to stare? No. Maybe? Did she stare? "So?" Iris questioned. Odessa moved her eyes to watch Iris fiddle with the bottle. "So what?" Finally Iris lifted her gaze to look at Odessa. "Are you going to tell me what you were thinking?" Odessa chuckled at Iris' statement. Mostly confused because how could she know she was thinking about how the shaded light of the lamp illuminated Iris' neck perfectly along with her sharp jaw and rosy cheeks. Though for some reason it wasn't really surprising Iris knew what she was thinking, Odessa felt like she was being read like a book every time Iris laid her eyes on her. Still she pushed to see why Iris was so sure of the statement. "What makes you so sure I was thinking of anything?" Odessa said with a small smile. "Hm just curiosity I guess. So you were just sitting, not a thought in mind?" Odessa took a deep inhale with a pondering look on her face. The silence grew so thick Iris could feel the hair all over her body stand up. Odessa's eyes trailed up to meet Iris' and she opened her mouth slightly.
"I was thinking about you." Iris didn't know how to react. This was filled with so many questions, answers, emotions. Yet Odessas face laid still. Iris just looked at her, clutching her bottle so hard she could feel her knuckles turn white. Iris was the one that prodded, but she hadn't anticipated Odessa being so blunt with her response. She felt her face pale slightly, however she showed none of it in her expression. Odessa had said it almost matter of factly, as if to tell Iris she could read her just as well. Iris averted her gaze only for a second to regain her breath. "Yes, I knew that." Something flashed across Odessa's face, but Iris couldn't quite tell what it was. The corner of her mouth raise so slightly for only a second, and her eyes flickered down.
