Odessa laid spread out on her bed staring at the ceiling. She was supposed to meet some of her friends to go to a party, but honestly she had a long day and really just wanted to relax. However knowing her friends they would most likely drag her there whether she wanted to go or not. And she wasn't wrong an hour or two later her friends were knocking on her door, practically breaking it down.

Odessa's friend Lily was the first one to barge in. ¨Come on get up we are going to this party. Together!¨ She grunted trying to pull Odessa up. She was quite unsuccessful considering she was a good 3 inches shorter than Odessa and weighed like 90 pounds. Odessa had only known lily for a little less than a year but the two had gotten quite close over the time. ¨But i'm tired¨  Odessa sighed. Turning her neck a bit to see her other friends Megan and Sylvia behind Lily laughing at her attempts to move Odessa. ¨She's right Lowenstein, we did all agree to go together. It's been ages since we've  all gone out.¨ Sylvia chimed in. Odessa watched as the three girls stared at her awaiting her response. ¨Right fine, Just give me a minute to change and I'll be right out.¨ The three girls nodded and left the room, Odessa saw them make themselves comfortable on her couch before the door fully closed.

Odessa and her friends pulled up to the party hours after it began, even still it was lively as ever. Soon Odessa and her friends were dancing in the back yard with a bigger group of some acquaintances, drinks in hand. Lily was flailing her her arms trying to get megan to loosen up and Sylvia and Odessa were almost on the ground of laughter. The girls traveled in a chaotic ball around the party, Odessa trying her best to keep her friends from doing anything stupid as she had only had two drinks and her friends had lost count.

After a while of babysitting she decided to let a little more loose herself. She sat with Lily on the couch watching Sylvia and Megan going mad on the dance floor. She smiled at the scene in front of her. And she had to admit she was rather glad she came out tonight, she had been quite stressed with school and work and this is exactly what she needed. To be honest the last time Odessa felt completely carefree was that night a couple weeks ago, with Iris. When she fell asleep and woke up next to her. That morning when she felt the sun on her back wake her. She opened her eyes to Iris, The sun on her peach skin. Odessa couldn't help but stare. She felt like a creep just watching her sleep but it made perfect sense when Iris opened her eyes. Odessa saw her deep crystal blue eyes, that were sometimes green, or grey. But Odessa loved her blue eyes.  And then that damn smile.

¨I don't know about you but how I was raised watching people sleep is a bit weird.¨ Iris laughed. That damn laugh. ¨Oh sorry, Just enjoying the view.¨ She flashed Iris a cheeky smile. ¨Mmm well , shows over. I gotta get going. Busy day.¨ Iris pulled herself up and reached her hand out for Odessa to grab. The two said their goodbyes and Odessa went on her way. Before she got in her car she turned to see Iris waving from her balcony with a huge smile on her face.

Odessa had not stop thinking about that morning. Not once. And she couldn't lie she was a little disappointed when she never saw Iris walk in the front door. They had both been so busy they had barely even seen each other in passing since their last hang out. And she missed her. She tried to convince herself it was because she never made new friends and it was exciting. But The way her stomach turned when Iris laugh said otherwise. Sometimes when Odessa thought about her or that morning, or the picnic they shared, she would laugh at herself. She was almost 22, she had experienced love and heartbreak and here she was with a silly highschool crush.

¨Hey i'm gonna get another drink, do you want?¨ Lily called to her over the music. Odessa nodded her head and sank further into the couch. Her eyes still laid on the front door. Just as she sighed and turned her head to the crowd of dancers, she saw a rather familiar smile. It was Iris. Her eyes were gently shut and she was swinging her arms around with some guy on her arm. She was moving before she could think and apparently just in time. Just as Odessa stepped to her, Iris was falling into Odessa's chest.

¨Are you ok? Lost your footing a bit.¨ Their eyes locked. Odessa pulled Iris back to her feet making sure to keep a tight hold. ¨Yeah, Yes I'm fine. I'm just a little drunk that's all.¨ Iris  couldn't help but blush. Odessa laughed at the disheveled Iris in front of her. However she was just happy to be in her presence again. The question of "if Iris felt the same so called school girl crush as Odessa" was starting to push at Odessa's mind harder and harder. And she didn't know how long the question would go unanswered. Along with so many other.
