Charging through the halls, Stephen grips one side of the gurney as Astra is holding the other side, "Christine!" Stephen calls out, making the doctor just sigh to herself. "Are you kidding me?" she mutters and looks over at the two running towards her. But her eyes were immediately glued onto the woman lying half-dead on the gurney, "Oh, my God." she mutters and ran towards them. "It's not fibrillation. She has a stunning myocardium." Stephen informs her, "Neurogenic?" Christine asks, "Yes." he answers. "We need to prep her for surgery! She's bleeding, internally." Astra informs her as they ran down the next hall.
The doctors were suited up and gathered around The Ancient One, even Stephen suited up, pulling on his gloves, he grips the two inched blade, only for his hand to shake, he was still not ready. He looks out at the others, then locked his eyes with Astra as she stood off to the side, giving out orders.
So he looks to the next best thing, "Nick." he calls out, drawing in the doctor and turns the handle of the blade to him. "We need to relieve the pressure on her brain," he informs him. Nick just stares at him, taking the blade, and nods at him. The heart monitor was on and tracking her heart.
But it immediately flatlines, drawing Christine's attention. "We're losing her!" she calls out. "We need to increase her oxygen!" Stephen calls out, "Get the pads ready!" Astra calls out as well. "I need a crash cart!" Christine calls out as she stood over The Ancient one "Her pupils have dilated!" a nurse calls out.
Astra peeks over at the door as she spotted the Ancient One's astral form, "Stephen." she calls out, making him look over at her, "She left her body." she whispers. Stephen snaps his eyes over at the monitor, seeing it flicker then back onto her. Sending that nod, she nodded back and they both pushed their astral forms out from their body.
They floated into the astral plane as Astra flew out of the room, "This way." she calls out, he flew after her, as she leads him after the Ancient One, "What are you doing?" Stephen calls out to her.
They followed her into the hall as she phased through another wall, "Come on, you're dying!" Stephen calls out to her again. They passed through the cafeteria and headed for the window where she stops. Both of them stood at either side of her as she kept her gaze outside the window. "You have to return to your body. You don't have time." Stephen tries to reason with her. "Time is relative. Both of your bodies haven't even hit the floor yet," she assures him.
Astra exhales in disbelief of her, but her gaze was caught by the rippling of thunder in the sky, "I've spent so many years peering through time looking at this exact moment. But I can't see past it." she states as Stephen was looking out the window as well. "I've prevented countless, terrible futures. And after each one, there's always another. And they all lead here but never further." she informs them both.
Stephen just looks at her, "You think this is where you die." he said aloud, making Astra look at her in surprise. "You wonder what I see in your future?" she asks him, Stephen shook his head, "No," he answers, making her smile. "Yes," he answers again. "I never saw your future. Only its possibilities." she answers, then looks over at Astra "And what about you Astra, ever wondered?" she asks her. She ponders for a minute and shrugs. "My future never excited me, but my past... that's what has my attention," she informs her.
Making the Ancient One sigh to herself. "You both have such a capacity for goodness. You always excelled but not because you crave success but because of your fear of failure." she said to them both, "That's what made us great doctors." Stephen informs her.
She just shrugs, "It's precisely what kept you both from greatness." she informs them, making both looks at her, "Arrogance and fear still keep you from learning the simplest and most significant lesson of all." she informs them, "And what lesson is that?" Astra asks her as they were paying close attention. She just smiles, "It's not about you." she answers and they both stare at her.
