You had just woken up in the Keyblade Graveyard, completely confused on how you got there in the first place until you saw Master Xehanort and his apprentice Vanitas come through a portal of darkness. Your head hurt like hell, and the creepiness of the master and masked boy didn't help one bit. It wasn't until you looked at Xehanort straight in the eye that you remembered that he was your master and had knocked you out for not using the darkness. You were on the very edge of your control as the dark mass started surrounding you, your eyes starting to turn into that golden amber color because of your anger at the master and his damn apprentice for not even attempting to help you. Master Xehanort smirked at you, while Vanitas just stared at you.
"Very well done, _______. I see that you have finally realized that darkness is the only way for you," Xehanort said while walking around you, looking up and down, that evil smirk never leaving his face. Your eyes were now that amber color instead of _____(your eye color). The darkness had disappeared shortly after this, but your eyes stayed that same amber color as you stared at Xehanort, anger and hatred plain as day on your face. Vanitas tossed you a mask of your own along with a female version of his clothing and you caught it, putting the clothing on what you already have on after taking off the old shoulder armor thing but keeping on your wayfinder, the only proof of your previous master, Eraqus. He had to transfer you because of the darkness in the first place, and it broke your heart to leave him, Terra, Aqua, and Ven. You put the mask on last and then took a deep breath as you summoned your Keyblade, which had turned into a new version--the darkness version of it.
"Well, what other choice did I have," you said bitterly, utterly disgusted with what you've become.
"Still disgusted over something that was supposed to happen," Xehanort said, then gave Vanitas a signal. He walked over to you, those damned Unversed following him around. Before he knew it, you had made them go back into the boy, where they belong.Xehanort gave you an approving nod before leaving through a portal. You crossed your arms and walked toward one of the many Keyblades left behind and stared at it.
"All of this fighting for the X-Blade, all that death, for nothing now," you said to yourself. Vanitas heard this and walked over to you, putting a hand on your shoulder. You shrugged it off and continued staring at the fallen Keyblades, the only proof of their owners. You looked at your armor shoulder pad and put it on the ground, then pressed the button for your armor to appear on the ground, almost looking like a fallen warrior.
"You know, darkness isn't all bad," Vanitas said as you stared at the armor that you'll never use. You took off your wayfinder and then placed it on the ground before stepping on it and breaking it because you didn't want your friends to find what you've become. Xehanort comes back and tells you to go to Radiant Garden and "talk" to Master Aqua. You summon a portal of darkness and go to Radiant Garden. You see your blue haired friend and walk towards her. She summons her Keyblade and gets into battle stance. You do the same, thinking "May as well keep my identity a secret. She wouldn't be able to look at me now, anyway." You start battling, but she notices the techniques that you use, except for the darkness.
"______? Why are you wearing that mask," Aqua asked while blocking an attack.
You don't answer, you just keep fighting until she has you on the ground. You pretend to be out of it until she's about to take off your mask, which is when you back flip away from her, making her fall backward and you back away into a dark portal back to the Keyblade Graveyard, where Vanitas catches you. You start breaking down while he holds you, trying to help in any way he can.
"What happened, _______? Did she harm you," Vanitas asked gruffly while holding you up.
You shake your head no and manage to choke out, "She knew."
"Did she try to take off your mask," he asked while holding you again. He could feel the nod as you buried your head into his chest.
"Did she actually take it off?" He could feel the shaking sideways to mean no.
"She knew it was me and I didn't even say a word," you said after calming down.
"Probably your battle techniques," Vanitas said while looking at your masked face. He took off your mask, your hair falling out of wear it was in the mask. He then wiped the tear tracks away from your face, then did something you didn't expect: he took off his mask. Vanitas's eyes were the same amber color as yours now was, and he had spiky black hair.
He gave you a smirk and said, "Well, I figured that since I've seen what you look like, I should return the favor."
You look at him with a smile and say, "Thanks, but you didn't have to."
He puts his mask back on and you do the same, for once happy about your situation. Xehanort comes back through another portal and asks about what happened and you told him. He smirked after your report of what happened and then patted the top of your helmet.
"I knew you would be an excellent pupil once you learned," he said before going off to who knows where through another portal.
"Man, he never even gave me a pat on the back. You're lucky," Vanitas said, a hint of jealousy in his voice.
"It was a test to see if I really didn't have any light left in me," you said while looking to where your master had disappeared, "That's why he sent me to Aqua. I was the closest to her. I guess I passed with flying colors." You said the last part very depressed.
"Why don't I tell you all of the good things about the darkness," Vanitas asked.
"I think I already knew, I just didn't want to admit it to anyone when I was with Eraqus," you said while facing him.
"He must really hate the darkness if you were too scared to say anything good about it."
"I think he fears it more then anything else. That's why he transfered me."
You took out your Keyblade and stabbed it into the ground, trying to recollect your thoughts while at least attempting to connect with the past weilders that had fought on this ground, seeking advice. Instead you had gotten nothing. Vanitas gives you a hug from behind, then slowly turns around. You slowly take off his mask as he slowly takes off yours. Both of you gently lay them on the ground and then kiss. It was rough and passionate, and your hands had gone around his neck while his had gone to your face, making the kiss deeper. Before you knew it, you were exploring each others' mouths. After you both broke apart for breath, he smirked and whispered in your ear, "I love you."
You smiled and said, "I love you, too."
Both of you had spent the rest of the day together after you had gathered the pieces of your wayfinder and put them back together thinking, "I don't care of what they see anymore. I just hope that they'll find me, because I'll be ready for them, as long as I have Vanitas."
