"M-Mnhh, Daddy I don't wanna go to school...." A small, younger Blake gripped his beloved fox plush, and a yellow sling bag containing a pencil case and some books were strung around his small body. He had heard from the bigger kids around the block that school is a mean place.
"School will be fun kiddo! Don't worry, you'll meet and make friends, it's a wonderful place." His father smiled, ruffling Blake's already messy hair. Blake ambled towards the looming building, it looked unassuming with little cute animals painted on the walls. The halls were pastel green, the doors painted a colour of the rainbow. "Daddy said that the room I need to go to is the blue one....." he whispered as his small footsteps echoed through the halls.
'Where was everyone....? Why is there no one here....? Am I maybe late?' A small knock on the blue door from the small boy in the red sweater, and another, and another. With no response after what felt like forever, he slowly opened the door. The room was big, very big, it was the biggest room he had seen other than in a mall. There were about five....? He thinks that's what the number is called, five tables with many chairs.
Another boy sat at one of them, he was the only one there. He wore goggles around his neck, with a baby blue strap. The boy wore a black shirt, and oversized navy blue pants, with cyan-coloured crocs that had small winter-themed charms placed in the holes. What set him apart from other people he's seen is the white hair he had. Aren't old people the only people with grey hair like that? The boy was also covered in bruises and band-aids, and his prominent icy eyes were staring right at him.
"So you're the new kid," A cold and harsh voice came from the boy, his aqua-coloured eyes pierced the maroon-wearing boy's bumblebee-yellow.
"A-ah- yea....."Blake bashfully said, hugging his plush fox ever so tightly.
The boy's icy glare softened a little, pulling a chair beside him as if beckoning the red-haired kid to sit beside him. Blake hesitantly sat beside, he's never really had any friends beforehand, so what's this guy gonna be like?
"....W-what's your name?" Blake whispered, taking a glance at the goggles-wearing boy beside him.
"Steven. Steven Sleet if you want my full name," the boy answered, a wearied look on his face.
"M-mines Blake.....Blake Redwood, call me whatever you like...." he muttered as his grip on the plush toy loosened, starting to get more comfortable around the other kid.
"What's got you so nervous? It's just school." Steven kicked his legs up, crossing his arms together.
Blake tensed up a little, replying: "T-the big kids t-told me that school was b-bad, with mean k-kids and mean a-adults....."
The reply surprised the white-haired male, he actually believes all the older kids around. How cruel of them to make a younger kid feel anxious on their first day of school! Blake continued on, "T-they'd say that I-I'd get hurt....and people w-would go o-out o-of their way to m-make me feel bad....." Steven saw Blake gripping tighter onto the plush he was holding, the plush's threads seeing to be on the verge of breaking if, he were to squeeze it even more.
"All the big kids are just plain meanie heads, whatever they say is probably just things to scare you. And no people don't go around just bullying people, I think they're a little too friendly in my op-...op-pinion, I think that's how you say that word...I like to be by myself better." Steven answered back, his fingers tapping on the little kid's table.
"O-oh...ok....it's just that I-I've never been to s-school before...my daddy h-has been teaching m-me at home....and I-I was just nervous about how school was going to be like....." Blake muttered, his eyes turning to Steven.
Steven was shocked to learn that the kid had never been to school before, considering how well he was able to speak compared to the other dumber kids he's had to deal with.
"Well, would you like to join me and my friends? We all sit at one table, and random people keep having to fill up the last space left, and you seem nice."
"Oh- I- yeah...! Yeah, I'd like that."
