Warning: mentions of vomit

It was the first game the team had since there re brand from district 5 to the ducks. They were excited to have an actual name rather then just some stupid number. Vicky was buzzing with excitement, she had spent all morning packing her hockey bag and making sure she had everything twice. Her lipgloss, lucky hair scrunchie, and her bubble gum that was flavored like cinnamon.

"Dad come on we're gonna be late!" She yelled at her father. She had been anxiously waiting by the door for 5 minutes well her dad took care of some last minute things.

"Vick, honey the game doesn't start for another 2 hours. I think we'll be okay."

"But What if there's traffic? Or the car breaks down? Or we get abducted by aliens? Or there's a fire-" Vicky rambled but her father came over, got down to her level, and grabbed her shoulders.

"Vick, I know your worried about the game today but trust me, we're gonna get there, I'll make sure of it." Her dad promised. She took a little breath.

Eddy, her brother came in holding his basketball duffle bag to go to his game today. The family had made an agreement that her step mom would go to eddys game, and her dad would come to Vicky game. Eddy was a junior in high-school and was co caption of the team.

"I don't know Vicky, I herd the aliens were looking for you again..." her bother teases.

She ran over to him to go give him a piece of her mind but he quickly grabbed her and through her over his shoulder and started spinning her around.

"Put me down!" She yelled giggling and flailing her arms though through her puffy winter coat.

"Not today, your alien food now!" Eddy said laughing

"Eddy put her down before she throws up again!" There father said.

Eddy took her off his shoulders and set her on the floor.

"Your gonna do great today kid. Just try not to throw up again. The janitors at the rink weren't happy about that."

Vicky cringed at the memory. How during the first hawks game she leaned over the side of the wall and barfed up her breakfast because she was so nervous. Between there couch yelling at them, and her former friend Adam banks pushing her around with his bully friends, she had a right to feel sick to her stomach. Between that and the limo incident, couch Bombay should start being a barf back for her.

"I'll try not to..." she giggled.

Eddy chuckled and ruffled her hair.

"We gotta go now!" Vicky said jumping impatiently.

"Aright let's go." Her dad said getting the keys.
She started to make her way to the door when Eddy stopped her.

"You forgot your hat silly goose." He picked up her pink knitted hat that had two fluffy Pom poms.

He placed it on top of her blonde curls and made sure it covered her ears.

"We gotta hid those dumbo ears." He joked.

"Hey! There not that big..." she frowned and covered her ears with her hands.

"He's teasing, your ears are perfectly sized."
Her dad assured her.

She grabbed her bag and stick and waved bye to Eddy as they headed out the door to the game.
