The ducks made there way to eden hall. They were noticeably late for the first day which wasn't a good start to the year. Maybe taking avermans "short cut" wasn't the best idea.

The ducks found there way to eden hall, thankfully. The no time to spare they quickly rushed up to the back door of the auditorium, trying not to draw too much attention to themselves.

"And the gold metal winners of the junior goodwill games.." was all there her before a yell from Goldberg, a thud and the sound of a curtain ripping.

The ducks fell on top of one another in a pile with the curtain cover them. The sound of laughter and gasps roared from the crowed.

"Hey get off me!" Vicky pushed guy off her trying get up, once the curtain was lifted off of them vicky was met with the eyes of hundreds of students.  she could feel her cheeks become flushed. Thank god she's on her anti nausea medication.

"Hi...we're the ducks!" Charlie greeted the crowd. Vicky groaned.

Well this should be fun.

After a rough start to the morning, the team had found themselves in dean Buckley's office.

"I can't believe this is how I start my freshman year, that was the most embarrassing thing that's ever happened to me." Vicky explained. She was in the middle of touching up her lip gloss in front of her tiny compact mirror.

"More embarrassing then when you wore your pants backwards for the whole day in 7th grade?" Connie asked.

"Or what about at the goodwill games you got gum in your hair and miss mackay had to get it out with peanut butter?" Julie chimed in.

"I'm still mad at you for letting me do that, I mean why don't you tell me?" Vicky turned to Connie, Putting her lipgloss in her side pocket on her backpack.

She snickered, "it was pretty funny.."connie said in defense.

Vicky rolled her eyes. "Back to what I said, not a good start to our year."

"Relax vick, these preparers aren't gonna do anything to us." Charlie said, trying to get her to relax.  He quickly turned his attention to the ant farm in the office.

"check it out. Antsvile."  They all gathered around to look at the ants.

"Look at em go, whoa." Fulton said staring at the ants, following them as they ran around.

"Yeah, I'm itchy just looking at them." Vicky suddenly reached up the itch her arm.

"You can learn a lot from ants." The ducks jumped back startled to see dean Buckley through the glass.

"These are Brazilian fire ants..can teach you a lot about successful societal structure Come here. You see there's one queen in there." He pointed to one of the ants. "The rest are dedicated worker ants.Everybody pulls their weight. Nobody complains. There's harmony
and growth. Same here at Eden Hall. Only you are the workers, the backbone."

"And your the queen?" Russ commented. All the ducks snickered.

Boy, did the ducks not expect this. Homework on the first day? The these quizzes and assignments and pressure was starting with worry vicky. How was she supposed to keep up with school and hockey?

As she walked down the hall way to her next class. she was not joined by any of the ducks for this class. She had decided to take an advanced art class this year to fulfill her creative side. As she was walking she felt and arm wrap around her. She looked up to see fulton.

"Hi fulton" she gave him a small smile.

"How's my favorite girl doing?" He asked pulling her a little closer as they walked.

"Fine so far, so many of my classes have already given so much homework my folders are getting heavy." She complained.

"Here let me take some." He offered.

"Aw really? Thanks babe." She put her pile of folders on his and they continued walking.

Fulton looked down at his girlfriend, he noticed something. Something that made his heart sink slightly.

"What's with the new necklace Vicky?" He asked. She was wearing a gold locket around her neck.

She looked down and picked it up. "Oh this? My aunt gave it to me in New York! Do you like it?" She asked.

"Yeah..um..where's the one I gave you?" He questioned.

"Oh well you know..I decided to take a break from wearing it. I mean, I would hate for it to get lost or broken. But don't worry, I still have it." She assured him.

Fulton smiled trying to hid his hurt. He didn't understand why this necklace was taking the place of the one he gave her. He tried not to think to hard about it, but for fulton reed, that was hard.

The bell rang loud through the hallway, which signified she needed to hurry to her class.

"I gotta go fulton, I'll see you later okay?" Vicky took her folders off futons books. She gave him a quick peck on the lips before quickly running off. What she hadn't realized, is that one of her folders was still with fulton. A folder she wishes she wouldn't have forgotten.
