This is really just an index of the terminology that I made up for the story so that I don't have to spend chapters explaining why magic is spelled like magyk in this series. Among other things.
As mentioned earlier, the Zun are an upgraded version of the Natives.
During the war of Discord, (just as a reference, this is before the arrival of the New Parisians) as a final attempt to strike at the Veils, after being chased to the east, the Easterns developed a virus that plagued the rest of the Veils. It was the worst thing the Veils had really ever faced. It killed off about 15% of the veils, which is approximately 2,000,000 people. Those who lived described it as torturous, and while they had it, they wished that the disease would kill them.
The disease had a strange affect on the Natives, though.
It mutated them, and that was described as excruciating. It morphed them physically and mentally. They looked different, but they also thought different. They became smarter and more advanced in any way you could think.

(Disclaimer: This is not me being racist, this is me explaining why people look different okay! I here we have different places of the planet and stuff like that, but not there. They don't live on a planet, I don't have that explanation. If you make it too the third book, I get really detailed about it, I promise.)
Anyway, after a few years of mutation, and after the disease disapated, the Zun wanted to be recognized as separate from the Natives. They were tired of being treated differently and getting wierd looks on the street, and even from their families. They waged war against their oppressors and created their own country Hungshei, and they made a society in which they function together like clockwork. They don't let anyone in, and no one wants to leave.
