Hope slams the door of her motel room a little more roughly than she normally would. She sighs and shakes her head as she walks into the tiny room that's been hers for the past two weeks. Everything about her situation is slowly driving her completely insane. The room she lives in is old and doesn't smell that good. The business deal she blew off in Vegas is haunting her, and making her job a living hell. She misses her friends and her family. Last but not least, the woman she's here for is avoiding her as much as she can.
Ever since the first day Hope made it to Mystic Falls, Josie's been actively looking for reasons to not spend time with her. Work, family emergency, friends needing her... Every reason is good enough to avoid their plans. The last excuse the brunette found tonight is that she has to water her plants. Their whole plan to have dinner and finally spend some time together got thrown out of the window because some plants need watering.
The auburn haired girl sits on the bed, and a nauseous feeling invades her as she looks around the room. That's when she understands that she can't spend another evening in this room with nothing to occupy her mind other than the cheap TV, her phone or her computer.
After quickly changing her clothes, Hope steps out of the room. She walks through the streets of Mystic Falls for way longer than she probably should. She knows them by heart now, the small town holds no secret for her anymore. It came as a surprise for Hope when she found herself liking the quietness of Mystic Falls, the familiarity of its people and the nature that surrounds the town. At first, the New York woman attracted curious gazes, but the people quickly got used to Hope's city looks.
An hour or so passes before Hope decides to stop by the Mystic Grill to eat. The auburn haired woman steps into the place with her head down and a sigh that leaves her lips. She plans to go straight to the table she claimed as her own during the last two weeks, but a laugh stops her. A laugh she knows all too well for someone who heard it once or twice. Hope's head immediately snaps to her right, where the laugh came from.
Hope's eyes grow a little wider when she sees the person the laugh belongs to. Surprise soon leaves place to a bubbling anger in Hope's heart. Her wife is sitting in a booth with her three best friends and a blonde woman, who Hope assumes is her sister Lizzie. Josie looks like she's unburdened, and having the time of her life. Hope doesn't remember seeing her this happy or free before. It makes the Mikaelson woman even more mad than it probably should. She's been trying so hard to be worthy of Josie's time and attention, and the brunette never even tried.
Instead of going to her usual table, Hope heads straight for the one Josie's sitting at with determined steps. The first person to notice her coming their way is MG. The man's eyes go wide and he quickly tells something to the others sitting around the table. Within a second, Josie's head turns to look at Hope. Their eyes lock together, and the surprise in the brunette's eyes make Hope even angrier than she already was.
Josie quickly stands up and steps away from the table. She walks a step or two to meet Hope, and her face falls a little when she notices just how pissed her wife is.
"Hope-"
"No." Hope firmly says, holding a hand up to put a stop to the words that were about to fall from Josie's lips. "You don't get to talk now. You're gonna listen, because I have a lot to say." Josie closes her mouth and gives a little nod. "I asked you if we could stay married when we found out we made a mistake in Vegas, and you agreed. I clearly asked you if I actually stood a chance, and you said that I did. I left everything I hold dear behind to make this marriage work. My job, my home, my friends, my family... Everything." Hope's words are sharp as she does her best to keep herself from yelling at the brunette looking at her with guilt-filled eyes. "I just wanted a chance, Josie."
