"Are you sure you wanna go to New York?"
Josie sighs as she stops zipping up her suitcase. She takes a deep breath before looking over her shoulder. They had this conversation twice already.
"Yes, Lizzie, I'm sure." Josie looks back at her suitcase and closes it completely. "I need to make things right with Hope."
"Why?" Lizzie asks as she crosses her arms. "You could just go back to your life. She said she'll send you the divorce papers."
The brunette twin closes her eyes and does her best to remain calm. She turns around to face Lizzie and soon mirrors her stance.
"Hope didn't deserve to be treated that way. I need to apologize."
"She forced you into this marriage-"
Josie groans and throws her hands in the air in exasperation.
"How many times do I have to tell you? She didn't force me into anything!" The brunette sighs. "We got married, and I definitely agreed to that. The fact that I was drunk doesn't make me an unwilling participant. She did ask me to keep it up, but I had a choice, Lizzie." Josie takes a step closer to her sister. "Stop blaming Hope. She's not the reason why I've been hurt, and you know it."
"Well, she's not helping." Lizzie snaps. "You're meant to be moving on. To heal. You were supposed to have fun in Vegas, that's why I brought you there. I wanted you to get laid with the first stranger that caught your eyes, not get married to them."
Josie gives her sister a small smile. "What can I say? I'm a romantic."
Lizzie scoffs and turns around to leave the room. Josie watches her go, and a chuckle escapes her lips. After a second though, the blonde walks back into the room.
"Be careful with your heart this time." Lizzie says a lot more softly than before. "Don't simply hand it to her like you did with-"
"I won't." Josie quickly interrupts her twin. "But she deserves a chance." She pauses and bites her bottom lip. "And an explanation."
Lizzie nods before walking out again. It's all it takes for Josie to grab her suitcase and rush downstairs. MG is waiting for her by the door with his never ending smile. A smile the brunette quickly reciprocates. The man quickly walks closer to Josie.
"Give me your suitcase, princess. I'll take it to the car."
"Thanks, MG, but I can do it myself."
He winks as he still reaches for the suitcase. "I got it."
She gives him a grateful smile as he walks to the door. Josie takes her jacket from where it's hanging and slowly puts it on.
"You're gonna call me when you get there, right?"
Josie quickly looks to where her mother's voice is coming from. She gives the blonde woman what she hopes is a reassuring smile as she pushes her hair out of her jacket.
"Of course, I will." Josie softly says. "Don't worry about me, okay? I'll be okay."
Caroline's arms are crossed as she leans on the wall next to her.
"New York is a big town, Josie. It has nothing to do with Mystic Falls, and knowing you're gonna be there all alone-"
"I won't be all alone." Josie gently cuts her mother off. "Hope will be with me."
"What if she refuses to forgive you?"
The brunette's eyes drop and she sighs. "Then, I'll call MG and he'll come to bring me back home." Then, she whispers the next part to herself. "Hopefully, she'll just forgive me."
