Where am I now?
Yeah, in the back of a foul-smelling carriage, bounded to one of its post with a cuff.
Why?
I am accused of forgery, and that too a forgery of one of the noblest houses.
I did tell them that if this was no forgery, they would be in deep trouble. Because of me.
But who pays attention to sane words nowadays?
They didn't in my home country and they didn't in this country too.
"Check if she is still in there!" One of the guards asked.
Hearing that I closed my eyes and slowed down my breathing.
The curtains opened and resisted the want to shut my eyes tight.
"She is asleep, Sir." He said, closing the curtain.
I had been in this carriage for almost two days and the only thing that kept me going was the glass of water I had from that lady's house.
I hadn't eaten for almost three days. The last time, some fruits from an oasis farm.
But since it has been some time, I had been used to it, so I chose to turn a deaf ear to all the rumblings from my stomach.
"Is she alive?" One of the guards asked.
Another guard opened the curtain and got in.
This is the part I hate. When strangers come close to me. Dangerously close to me.
"It seems like she is. But..."
"But?"
"She seems to be very weak. You see, Sir, she was traveling in the desert all along, so I don't think she must have gotten a lot of food.
And she has been in this carriage for long. I am surprised that hasn't yet asked us to stop for throwing up, already."
"So?"
So? He is seriously asking so? Well, at least someone has a bit of humanity in here.
"I think we should buy her something to eat."
"Nah, we will just give her something to eat, before we enter the palace." He said.
"Alright, Sir."
I then let out a sigh.
At least, I will get something then. Think positively, Elle.
Suddenly, the carriage came to a sudden halt.
I then fell forward.
The curtain opened and a soldier came in. He then made me sit alright and left.
"What happened?"
"She fell when the carriage came to a halt. But, she slept through it completely."
"Seriously? And now why did you stop the carriage?" He asked the coachman.
"We are entering the capital, Sir."
"Alright. In case there are some disturbances, show this identification."
"Yes, Sir."
And then the carriage moved relatively slower than before, then it came to a stop, and suddenly it resumed its previous speed.
After some time, when I thought I could no longer handle the urge to throw up, the carriage came to halt.
"You, take her outside. And you, buy some food for three of us."
"Yes, Sir." Both of them said in unison.
The carriage curtain opened and the soldier got in.
He then got near to me.
"Miss, Miss! We have reached our destination. Please open your eyes." He asked.
And I opened.
"AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!"
