"It is about that new guy." He said.
"What about him?" I asked.
"There is something fishy about him."
"I don't think so. I think, because of your job, you think everyone is suspicious." I said.
"I don't think you are suspicious." He said.
"That means you are bad at your job," I said.
"Are you admitting that you committed forgery?" He asked.
"I am simply reminding you of your job," I said
"Yes. Now, we will put these events behind, and focus on your 'outing' today." He said.
"Yeah, sure," I said. "Let me just use the washroom, first," I said.
"Yeah, sure." I will be waiting here." He nodded and I left.
As I was exiting the washroom, I heard a rustling of grass.
I walked on my toes and moved towards the door and peeked out a bit.
A maid was walking around the area, looking around her, over her shoulders and such.
She then went behind a tree, crouched down, and spent some time there.
After some time, she stood up, looked over her shoulders, and left.
After making sure that she had completely left, I got out of the washroom and went to the place she suspiciously stood.
I looked around. Nothing suspicious.
Then I looked down. Nothing suspicious, I let out a chuckle, except for some fresh mud that seems to be dug.

"Elle, you are ba-" I interrupted him.
"We need to get back to the penitentiary, fast," I said.
"What's the matter?" He asked and started running back.
"I am afraid something serious would happen if we don't get there fast," I said.
"What serious?" He asked.
"Even I don't know," I said.
"Then how did you know?" He asked.
"Oh please, Gillems, if there is anything that I am praying right now, is for my intuition to be wrong," I said.
"Then-" He was about to ask something when the penitentiary came to the view.
I let out a sigh of relief.
"Phew! Nothing has happened." I said.
And just as if the Fates were playing with me, the penitentiary blew up in flames.
For a moment, my whole body went numb.
Gillems started running towards the penitentiary. I started to slowly move my body and ran towards the penitentiary.
As we went closer, the cries of the people could be heard.
"What should we do?" I asked.
"We need to call for help," Gillems said.
And suddenly, after seeing the fire, soldiers started running closer to the penitentiary.
"What happened?" Everybody asked.
"We don't know. We just saw the penitentiary going up in flames, and ran up to here." Gillems said.
"Quick! Extinguish the flames!" Gillems gave the order and everyone started running in different directions for the extinguishers.
I suddenly saw Miss Brints inside the penitentiary and ran inside.
"What are you doing, Ella?" Gillems stopped me.
"I saw Miss Brints in there. We need to help her." I said.
"Not right now. If you go inside right now to saw Miss Briants, we can't assure you that both of you will come out. So the best solution, for now, is the wait outside patiently." He said.
Soldiers started using water and some powders to extinguish the fire. And after a long time of war, the fire died down.
There were a lot of causalities, but none were dead. Thank Goodness!
I ran to Miss Brints and the other maids. Some of them had serious injuries and were being tended by some doctors.
I checked Miss Brints. Her case was serious too, but not too serious. There were a lot of burns, but only curable. But they would leave marks.
For an old lady like Miss Brints it would be no issue, but that would not be the same case for the younger maids, mainly those of whom are just married or in the age of marriage.
I rubbed some myrtle, betel nut, camphor with aloe vera and applied it on her skin, and put the paste aside, for other patients as well.
"Ella." I heard Gillem's voice and turned.
I saw the worry in his eyes.
"What is the matter, Gillems?" I asked.
"You need to come outside." He said and I nodded. I stood up and followed Gillems outside.
"Miss Ella." There were some other guards outside, and one of them was the King's right hand.
"Yes?" I asked.
"We found this in your room." He said and moved back, giving me a clear view of the remains of gun powder in there.
I remained quiet for some time.
"You are not even going to act innocent?" One of the guards asked and the others laughed along.
"It doesn't add up," I said.
"What doesn't add up?" He asked. "You planted gun powder in your room and planned to get rid of this place today. Because today you will be going out with Sir Gillems." He said.
"And?" I asked.
My nonchalance shocked them.
"And?" He imitated. "You think you can convince us that you didn't do it by saying a simple and?" He asked.
"Well, for one, since you put me behind these bars, claiming that I did forgery, I should be a little bit smarter than hiding gun powder for blasting in my room," I said.
"Uh.., you are still not proving yourself innocent, lady." He said.
"And many people have access to my room, including some prisoners. So aren't they to be held responsible too?" I asked.
"Um..."
"And from where do you think I get this gun powder. I have no visitors." I said.
"And how do you think I ignited it?" I asked.
"You mentioned you need to go to the washroom. You could have easily ignited it then." The Soldier said.
I smirked.
"Oh my, I did go to the washroom," I said, feigning surprise in a comprehensible manner. "And did I forget to say that I found something interesting?!"

What do you think she found?
