CHAPTER 33
"Let's go find her," Kohaku said to Tsukumo after pacing back and forth in anxiety.
It has only been a few minutes since the funeral ended and they were all about to go home. When they were going to say their goodbyes to each other, they realized that Raichi was nowhere to be seen. Of course, this caused everyone to worry for her wellbeing, but they could only hope she's not doing anything reckless.
"Calm down, she just probably needs some alone time," Tsukumo assured the panicked Kohaku. If she survived being by herself back in a different country, then she could survive by herself here in SWORD too.
Kohaku sighed. "I know, I'm just worried for her."
"Raichi is a strong girl. White Rascals taught her well." Tsukumo reassured once more. Hearing that gave Kohaku a sense of relief even just for a little bit.
The older Mugen then reached his pocket to grab a cigarette to further calm his nerves. Suddenly his phone rang. He switched his attention to the ringing phone and pulled it out of his jacket. His face turned serious upon seeing the caller ID.
"I.. have to go now. You should go home too before it gets too late." The older Mugen said. He didn't wait for a response from the other and just hurriedly walked away.
Tsukumo watched as Kohaku rode into the distance. Everything about that phone call seemed weird for him. He can't help but think that Kohaku is keeping something from him. But he also thought that it's something personal so he decided not to interfere with whatever that was.
After a few more minutes of casually sitting around and looking at the peaceful surroundings, Tsukumo decided to leave the place and go home. He had enough darkness for the day and just wanted to lay down and rest.
But before he could go, he was interrupted by someone calling his name.
"Tsukumo," a female voice called from behind him. The younger Mugen immediately turned around upon hearing his name. It was Raichi, standing behind him with her hands in her pocket.
"Where have you been?" Tsukumo asked, looking at her with concern.
"Around." The female replied.
Tsukumo only looked at her without saying anything. He felt like he should be softer on her because of what she's going through. They might not have the best relationship, but he's a decent human being. He won't randomly lash out on a girl who is grieving.
Just then, without saying anything, Raichi grabbed the arm of Tsukumo and started pulling him. He hesitated but she was persistent and managed to get him to move. Before he knew it, he was running with her.
"Where are we going?" Tsukumo asked. But he received no answer from her. At that point he just gave up. Wherever this girl was taking him, he's gonna be ready for it. She could be taking him to his death for all he knows but surely that's not the case.
They continued running for a few more minutes before stopping in the middle of somewhere. The younger Mugen took a look around to where this girl brought her. In front of them was a bar.
He looked at the female, confused about why she brought him there. But Raichi only soared him a quick before going inside, leaving him behind.
Tsukumo was puzzled but he followed her inside nonetheless. He looked around as he entered. There were not many people inside, which wasn't strange at all since it was already pretty late.
He walked towards where Raichi was and took a seat beside her.
"Two vodkas please," Raichi ordered.
Tsukumo was surprised by her alcohol of choice. He didn't take her for someone who'd drink strong liquor. It was clear that he knew too little about this girl.
