Unrequited Love

CHAPTER 23

Arisa is currently laid down on the bed, inside of the room. She heard the cars leave earlier but she knows that someone is still home to guard her. At least that's what she heard mumbled from Ice. Plus with the number of men that The Wangs have, there is no doubt that he would have the house surrounded.

"Ari-chan," someone called.

She looked back to see who the person is and saw none other than Pearl. "Of course it would be him," she told herself.

Pearl stood there a few steps away from the door, in his hands is a tray with a meal and a glass of milk, Arisa presumes.

"You have to eat," he said.

Arisa kept quiet. She only watched him walk towards her. Then he placed down the tray atop of the nightstand beside the bed. There was also a desk chair nearby that's why Pearl grabbed it, to sit down on.

"You don't have to starve yourself."

"I'm not hungry." Arisa finally spoke, before turning around, making her back face Pearl.

"What's wrong?" he asked in a concerned manner.

Arisa shook her head as a reply. But Pearl is just really worried about her, he knew that she's been acting really strange. And it started ever since she's spied on SWORD and lived in Daruma Ikka. Although Pearl already knew that Arisa has fallen in love with Hyuga, still he knows that there's something else going on with her.

"There's no one else in here," Pearl said, "you can trust me Ari-chan. I promise."

Once more, Arisa turned to look at Pearl. She saw him smiling simply at her.

"Maybe I should." Another thought running across her mind, before there was another one. "What if Ice asked him to do this?"

She kept staring at Pearl but decided to turn her back on him again.

"Ari..sa. Arisa," he calls, hesitating at first, "I've never called you by your name, before."

"Don't do this Pearl," Arisa whispered.

Both of them know what's about to happen next. Given that Pearl already showed motives back when they took her from SWORD.

"Why did you kiss back?" he asked.

Arisa shook her head sideward, she doesn't want to remember anything, at least not right now.

They both stayed quiet. But Pearl is determined to know his score because if he's not going to, he wouldn't know whether he should push forward or pull away. Plus, he wants it to come from Arisa herself and not just from his gut or instinct.

He stood up from the chair before kneeling down beside the bed and taking Arisa's hand. This sudden movement made her turn around and look at the male. "What are you doing?"

"We can't go on like this, Arisa," Pearl answered, he held her hand gently in between both of his. "I need to know the truth."

"There's nothing to know, Pearl," Arisa said, before trying to pull her hand from his grip.

Pearl wouldn't let go of it, he looked at Arisa and met her eyes. "Why do you have to choose Hyuga?"

"I don't choose Hyuga," Arisa answered.

"Then choose me!" he replied, his eyes showing nothing but sincerity. "Please... if you can't do. Just tell me straight to the point."

By this time, Arisa decided to sit down on the edge of the bed. Pearl was fast to react, he let go of Arisa's hand but he went in between her legs, and tightly hugged her with his head resting against her abdomen.
