"You have a good day!" Dad said to me as he put his bag in the car, he stepped out and gave me a hug. I could tell he was stalling, anything that happened this morning is bound to be more mundane than whatever could possibly go wrong in dad's line of work. But that's just what dad preferred, the mundane-ness of a citizen's life. "Let's get it going! Or the big wigs are gonna start fussing!" Aunt Nat called from the car. Dad groaned, he loved spending time with me. But the world needed their patriotic symbol of freedom. It leaves the people with a feeling of peace, regardless of Earthly events. Knowing their saviors will be there for them.
I started my walk to school, I was heading in early to make corrections on a test. I personally don't care too much for my grades, but Dad thinks education is important. Which, it is. Just to some more than others. I've always been generally indifferent, I don't really mind doing the work all that much anyways, growing up with Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in your life makes high school algebra seem like an elementary concept. That is, only if you can keep up with their trains of thought.
Walking down the street I made my way down to the bodega on the corner of my street. I waved to Mr. Giovanni and headed down to grab a cup of coffee. As I made my way to the front of the store I noticed Mr. Giovanni watching Dad's first press conference. Sheesh, when he said his first conference was early I didn't think he meant first think he meant at the break of dawn early.
"Captain please verify for the press, is it true there is a junior avengers initiative in the works?" A reporter asked dad, "There is no such program." He answered without missing a beat. "But Captain, our sources tell us that there is a possibility,-" Dad cut the reporter short "I can assure you, there is no plan of bringing up the next generation of hero's." Dad's statement was firm. The reporter backed down and he began to take other questions. "I think he's full of shit." Another customer recounted "What makes you say?" I asked, I didn't look at them. I just kept watching dad on the mini tv mounted on the wall. "What wouldn't make you think that? Ever since he was injected with that serum ways back when people with superpowers have been popping up left and right." They said. I sighed "D- Captain America wasn't the first person to be capable of super-human feats. And if I recall correctly, the super soldier serum was created to combat a growing Nazi party. Who found themselves with extra terrestrial magic stones." I argued back, there was silence, only followed by the chime of the bells. They left. And now, it was time to get to school. I paid for the items I'd selected. A pack of watermelongum, a water bottle, and small bottle of coffee. The ones sold in the glass bottles.
