*see comments*"(Name)??" The boy shrieked. The heroes in the room collectively shared a confused glance. "You two know each other?" Tony asked, "We go to the same school," you explained calmly, you couldn't put your finger on why he was so alarmed to see you. "Uh... yeah." Peter seemed to settle after you explained how you knew each other. "What're you so panicked about?" Natasha asked, Peter tried to laugh off the anxious look off his face. "It's because he's Spiderman and theyve been flirting on (name)'s fire escape for the past two months." Tony and Steve blurted simultaneously. "What?" (name) looked at his uncle and father. "Oops. I forgot (name) doesn't know." Tony admitted. "Wait, how do you know?" Tony asked Steve. "I'm old not deaf." Steve chastised Tony. "Wait! You knew?" (name) turned to his chair to face Steve. "I'm old! Not deaf." Steve repeated. "Can we handle this another time?" Maria interuppted. "We have things to discuss." she continued. Peter quickly took a seat across the room from (name) attempting to avoid any further awkwardness. "Thank you. Anyways we need to discuss the junior Avengers. Maria slid a set of files onto the table, Steve reached over to the middle of the table grabbing the set of yellow manilla folders. "Eye of the Storm, Soren Taylor. Human in appearance, this elemental entity commands the holy winds and One of the candidates was Peter. One of the other two candidates was a darker skinned individual, their almond eyes were a deep brown, along the edge of their right iris, was a purple ring . The profile accompanying the photo described the individual as nonbinary. "So a demi-god?" Clint scoffed, "The paperwork doesn't specify, it just mentions that they aren't from the same plane of reality we are." Steve glanced over at (name), "You read this, I can't comprehend any of this." He muttered as he slid the folder to you.
You sat silent through the discussion, eyeing Peter. The slow beating of your heart accelerated, it didn't take a genius to tell you that you had feelings for Spider-Man. That was, if anyone was even aware you two knew one another... Which, now that you thought about it, several people knew. Not anyone you were opposed to knowing though. The people you were opposed to knowing this information? Literally anyone at Midtown. Peter then stood abruptly and left the room, your eyes followed as he made his way around the table and exited. "Uhm, (name)? The two of you seem to have some sort of connection, mind going to see what's wrong?" Tony suggested, (name) excused himself from the conference room table. (Name) shut the door behind himself, seeing Peter walking down the hallway, he followed. "Peter!" (Name) called to him. "Everything alright?" (Name) asked. Peter turned to face him. "Before you say anything,I'm sorry." The young hero blurted, (Name) pulled Peter close, there was something about this hug. Something that the two of you had done dozens of times before. Something felt different. "Sorry about what?" (Name) responded, the two of you held each other tightly, for what seemed like hours, in reality it was only five minutes, give or takeA. "About not telling you who I was." Peter answered. Truthfully, you were hurt a little bit, by the fact that you had been kept in the dark about Peter's identity. Though, you realized that the only reason you weren't told sooner, was because the potential threat of knowing was. It was a risk enough that the two of you spent so much time together as it were. "Peter, you did what was right." You looked into his trembling brown eyes. "We've seen what happens to people who are close with superheroes. It paints a target on their backs."
Down the hall you heard the sound of footsteps approaching. You began to pull away from Peter, he held on for just a bit longer. "What have we here?" an unfamiliar voice spoke. (Name) looked up, he recognized the face from the file he had only just recently glanced over. "Charmed. Soren Taylor." The wind elemental's greeting was abrupt, he turned and entered the conference room. "I guess we should head back in?" Peter suggested. (Name) nodded, the two of you stood and followed Soren. "Welcome back gentlemen." Maria began "Like I was saying, this initiative is necessary to provide support in cases of crisis. With each attack, invasion, whatever it is we're facing. The list of casualties is far too high." Maria explained. The door opened, two new figures stood in the doorway, two teenage girls. "Thank you for coming." Maria greeted "Kyla Lockheart." She introduced herself, a tall girl with deep brown skin and an afro that bounced on her shoulders. "Ying Mari" another girl with a long lavender ponytail with two strands of hair pulled to frame her face. Kyla stood tall, just about matching Steve's height. Mari was more petit, almost an entire foot and a half shorter than Kyla. "So is this the team? What can they do" (Name) muttered to Peter. "(Name), Peter. We went over candidate files while you two were out of the room. Meet Kyla and Mari." Steve announced, "Training schedules will be sent out soon. But for now, we're heading down to the training facilities so we can see what our new team is capable of." Maria stood and exited the room swiftly, Kyla and Mari followed as did the Avengers. (Name) looked to Peter and made his way to the exit. "Wait! Can we talk about this?... Us?" he called out, his voice shaken with worry. (Name) thought for a second on what he should say. "I really want to, but now really isnt the best time. What about tonight at the usual time?" (Name) suggested, Peter nodded in agreement. (Name) took Peter's hands in his, the two made their way down to the training facilities. The meeting concluded shortly after the trio showcased their abilities to one another and a general meet and greet.
That night, instead of visiting (Name)'s fire escape like usual. He approached the doorway to the Rogers' apartment. He took in a deep breath, and knocked on the door. "Who is it?" a voice called from within. It was Steve. "It's Peter." the boy answered with a shaky tone. The door flung open, Steve appeared behind the door, a terrified look plastered all over his face. He pulled Peter into the apartment and closed the door tightly behind him, locking the door swiftly. "Have you seen (Name)?" He asked, his voice riddled with agony. "They haven't answered any of my calls all day, and I haven't seen him since he left for school this morning." Steve blurted. The tension was high and the two heroes were beyond certain something terrible had occurred. "Could their phone just be dead? And they're out with a friend?" Peter asked, through attempts at deep breaths. "Could be, but they're in direct association with the entirety of the Avengers and Spider-Man..." Steve protested. The two paused, both fearing the worst. "Have you called Mr.Stark or any of the others?" Peter asked curiously? "He and Tony could be on a spontaneous vacation?" He continued. Steve's expression lit up with the idea that his son could be safe. He fumbled to his phone sitting on the coffee table in the center of the living room. Furiously dialing Tony he held the phone up to his ear as the phone rang.
Several attempts to call and about ten minutes later. "You rang?" Tony answered casually, Steve took a breath and collected himself. "Where are you?" He inquired, "My lab at the compound. Why?" He replied "Is (Name) with you?" Steve asked, unaware the panic was already seeping through the cracks in his voice. "Steve," A chair could be heard skidding across the floor across the phone line. "What's going on?" Tony demanded an answer. "I know you are both incapable of pulling a practical joke, much less is this ANYTHING to joke about." The billionaire shouted. "(Name)... is missing." Steve declared as he began to sob.
