"Ya mama really got you this thing?" Adonis ask as he leans down and looks into the glass tank at the reptile.

Ayden nods and grins while admiring his new friend.

"I want another one!"

"No sir, enjoy this one." Anastassia responds. She wasn't fond of the lizard that now lived in her home, but Ayden gets whatever Ayden wants.

Ayden fake pouts but quickly turns to focus on his lizard again.

"He got a name?" Adonis ask Ayden.

"Ummm, how about Blackberry! Blackberry Brown!" Ayden grins.

Adonis smiles and rubs his sons overgrown curls before standing back up. He turns and looks over at Anastassia who was focused on Ayden with a smile on her face. Adonis lets a small smile spread across his lips while admiring his wife, he hadn't seen her smile in awhile so he was enjoying this moment.
He had still been committed to trying to speak to Ana daily but she continued to give him the cold shoulder.

Could you really blame her though? Years of abuse and manipulation had turned Ana cold to him. The only thing that hurt him more than her leaving was her ignoring his existence.

"Alright, I have to go grab some groceries." Ana speaks as she heads for Ayden's bedroom door.

"No! I wanna go! Can blackberry come too mommy?"

"No Ayden. I'll only be gone about an hour, stay here with your daddy."

"No,no! I wanna go!" Ayden pouts.

"Stay here with me Ayden, we can eat some ice cream and watch your favorite cartoons." Adonis speaks trying to coax his son into staying.

"Okay. Bye mommy." Ayden responds with a grin.

Ana shakes her head and waves goodbye before exiting the bedroom. Adonis follows behind her down the stairs watching as she gathers the car keys and her purse. Ana twist her lips to the side as she searches her purse for her phone but comes up short. Adonis watches her for a moment before reaching into his pocket and pulling out the cellular device.

"Looking for this?" He ask.

Ana looks up at him and her face turns a light shade of red. Slowly she approaches him and he hands over the phone. He keeps his eyes on her as she places the phone in her purse. Adonis knew something was off about her today, he just didn't know what he was.

In true Adonis fashion he was going to find out.

"Thank you." Ana speaks.

Adonis nods and leans against the wall still watching a shaky Ana.

"Get me some Gatorade and those jalapeño chips you like so much."

"Oh now you like them? They were trash last time."

"Whatever. They grew on me." Adonis shrugs with a smile.

Anastassia smiles back and turns to head out the door. Adonis grabs her arm and spins her arm wrapping his long arms around her small frame. He inhales her sweet scent and nuzzles his face into her neck. Ana tries to resist for a moment but gives in locking her fingers around his neck, relaxing in his hold.

"I miss you. Tell me why I'm missing you and we live in the same home butterfly?" Adonis whispers into her ear.

Ana shrugs instead of answering his question because she didn't have the answers he was looking for.

"Talk to me, tell me this is something we can get through. We've been through worse baby. I'm sorry, let me show you I'm trying to change."

Ana looks up at him and deep into his brown eyes. He seemed sincere, but this is Adonis we were talking about.
