"What do you mean you're backing out?" Tiki asked me from inside my purse, her small head sticking out and her eyes tired.
"I mean I'm backing out! You know me tiki! Probably better than anyone! How could you not see this coming?" I asked back, my fingers rubbing my temples. "This is exactly the 465th time I've backed out of telling Adrien how I feel. It's never gonna happen tiki! He could never love me, plus he's in love with another girl. I'm going to have to stop wasting my time trying to figure out how to tell him."
Tiki sighed loudly. "If only you knew." She whispered.
I shook off the sad feeling that was aching me, and walked into school. Surprisingly, I was actually quite early.
I walked straight into my classroom and sat down. I started taking out my history notes when I felt a pair of eyes stare at me. I slowly turned around to see a pair of bright, emerald green eyes staring at me.
"AHHH" I screamed as I fell backwards.
"Oh my god Marinette! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?"
I slowly got up, my head feeling a little woozy. I put my hands on my head and closed my eyes. "Ouch." I muttered.
A pair of hand wrapped around my wrists. "Are you okay marinette?"
I opened my eyes to see none other than Adrien Agreste's hands wrapped around mine. Well, my wrists but same general vicinity.
"Umm y-yeah! I'm o-okay! Just mumped my head, I mean bumped! Bumped my head a little." I stuttered.
Adrien let go of me and smiled. "Thank god. I didn't mean to scare you."
"Scare me? No! You didn't scare me! I thought I saw a, uh, a spider! Yea a spider!"
"Oh! Okay. Glad I didn't scare you then!" He smiled at me and walked back over to his seat.
Scare me?! Scare me?! He TERRIFIED me! And my stutter! Why can't I get that under control?!
I mentally punched myself for the words, lack there of, i said. Adrien and I had become very close. As friends are, and yet for some reason, I still stuttered around him! I stammered, I stuttered, I embarrassed, and I mentally die Everytime I speak to him. It's an on going cycle.
"Um, marinette? Do you mind sitting with me today?"
I spun my head around so fast I thought I was seeing double.
Me?! He wants ME to sit with him?!
"Erm, sure! May I ask why?" I asked as I gathered my stuff.
"Well, ever since alya and nino have started going out, they've been sitting together. That usually either leaves me to sit alone, sit with Lila, or sit with Chloe. I don't mind sitting alone, but I would much rather that than sit with either of them. And if they come in here and see my sitting alone..." his voice trailed off.
I smiled as I sat down next to him. "Totally understandable." I said as I took out my history notes.
After a little while, our classmates started to pile in. One by one they all took their seats.
Alya and nino walked in hand in hand. Alya smirked at me and gave me a thumbs up once she saw who i
was seated next to. I turned away from her and tried to hide my bright red blushed cheeks from her.Class was about to start when,
"MARINETTE DUPAIN-CHENG. WHAT ON EARTH DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?"
I sighed. Another day, another Chloe outburst. I turned around and faced her.
"What do you mean Chloe? I'm just getting ready for class. Just like everyone else in here is doing."
