I woke up to plagg complaining about his stomach again. Something about not having enough Camembert or something. I got up and washed my face and changed clothes. I wasn't too particularly excited about school. While it used to be my only getaway?, I cherished something more. Ever since I connected with marinette that night on the balcony, I've gone over there every single night to see her. That, was my favorite part of my day.
Once I got dressed, I packed up my school belongings and started walking downstairs. I found Nathalie and stopped her before I could loose her again.
"May I walk to school today?" I asked. "It's super early anyways and a nice day outside. I'd like to enjoy it while I can."
Nathalie sighed but nodded her head.
A huge smile appeared on my face and I hugged her tightly. "Thank you so much."
I raced out the doorway and outside to the gates. They opened immediately and I walked outside.
I inhaled a deep breath of fresh air as I started walking on my way to school. I never got opportunities like this. To be free. Well, as Adrien anyways. As Chat, running around Paris and saving people, helping m'lady, and talking to Marinette, it was all free. Chat could do anything he wanted. When I was him, I was truly myself. Unfortunately, everyone knew Adrien Agreste as the shy, kind, humble, and famous model. I didn't really like that guy.
I approached the school. Class started in about 30 minutes so I was quite early. That was okay since I didn't get all my English work done last night. I spent the night talking to Marinette on her balcony.
When I entered the classroom, I was the first one there. Not too surprising since class started in half an hour. I sat down at my desk and started working diligently. Thankfully, I remembered the lesson and was able to answer the homework without any trouble.
I heard footsteps and looked to see who it was. It was Marinette. I smiled to myself. I had grown quite fond of her. Ladybug will always be my bugaboo, but deep down I know that i could never be with her. There's too much at risk with out identities. I know that. Marinette could be an option though. She's sweet, caring, and I may not understand what she's saying half the time, but she's an incredible friend.
She set out her stuff and started looking over her notes. She tensed up and started to turn my way. I guess she sensed I was staring at her because she looked directly at me. She screamed and fell.
"AHH!"
"Oh my god Marinette! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" I asked as I ran over to her
"Ouch." She muttered.
I wrapped my hands around her wrists and tried to help her up. "Are you okay marinette?"
"Umm y-yeah! I'm o-okay! Just mumped my head, I mean bumped! Bumped my head a little." She stuttered. Her stutter was cute.
I let go of her and smiled. "Thank god. I didn't mean to scare you."
"Scare me? No! You didn't scare me! I thought I saw a, uh, a spider! Yea a spider!" She exclaimed as she stood up.
"Oh! Okay. Glad I didn't scare you then!" I smiled at her and walked back over to my seat.
She started to look over her notes again, her cheeks a rosy red and her eyes closed. I blushed back and looked down at my worksheet that was completed.
I took a deep breath and faced towards Mari.
"Um, marinette? Do you mind sitting with me today?" I asked as I rubbed the back of my neck.
