The sound of heels clicking against a sidewalk sounds extremely empowering, especially when you're almost six feet tall and considered to be the prettiest woman of all. That's not an understatement either, she had won the golden apple in the one competition oh so many years ago. Then again, it was a very long time ago when that event occurred. What mattered now was getting home to make some dinner, and Aphrodite had bought the ingredients to yet another mortal delicacy. Eros liked cinnamon, or at least that's what she heard him say a while back.

The only house-like building in this side of the city sat nicely placed between a large office and an apartment building. It used to be a cafe, but after the owners lost their lives, it was abandoned. It functioned as a nice house for a wandering goddess now. Aphrodite had thought about opening up as a business owner herself, but she had zero support from her annoying companion.

"How about those cinnamon rolls?" Eros opened the door before Aphrodite could even place a hand on the doorknob. "I've waited all day for them, please tell me you're cooking right now!"

"Let me at least come inside!" She groaned, pushing herself inside past the excited, pink haired boy. He really was hungry. "I went and got groceries. Be a dear and help me put them up. What have you been doing all day?"

Eros closed the door behind her to stop any cold air from escaping into the already chilly room. "Oh geez, you really are like my mom." He walked over to the paper bags already sat on the counter, fumbling through it and pulling out the ingredients to the dessert of the century: cinnamon rolls. "Wait, is this it?"

Aphrodite ceased putting everything away, finishing by closing the refrigerator door and wiping the sweat off her brow. "What? Of course that's it. Why do you-"

"You forgot the flour!" He groaned, leaning against the wall and sliding to the floor. "You can't make cinnamon rolls without flour! I don't want flat pastries! I'm already lonely in the bedroom, and now I'm without the sweets I need to survive!"

"Oh please, calm your wings!" Aphrodite checked once more to see if she had missed the obviously important ingredient. "Well, looks like I forgot it. I'll go back and get some, it's not like you can't wait another fifteen minutes." She hastily put her winter gloves and hat back on. "I'll be back."

The traffic still roared as she walked down the sidewalk. Rush hour was every hour here, and the city was never silent. It seemed to lack the sense of comfort and romance that some cities had, instead the air bit at the noses of grumpy and rushing pedestrians. This city really needed some sparkle, some happiness in the atmosphere. It had begun to lightly snow despite this. More would certainly be coming with temperatures staying in the low end most of December.

As Aphrodite tried to speed up her pace in the heels she nearly regretted wearing, she almost didn't notice the shivering young teenager standing outside of a rather high class establishment. As much as she wanted to help, she decided to mind her own business and continue to the store. The girl looked rather dolled up, maybe she was waiting for someone.

The store was jam packed. Aphrodite felt she would never hear the end of this after she got home, Eros would be very agitated. She barely could squeeze through the aisle to actually grab what she came for. At last however, she did make it out of the grocery with a sack of flour in her arms and her coat bunched up as tight as possible.

After walking towards the restaurant she had passed to get to the grocery, Aphrodite noticed the young girl was still standing there, this time tears running down her face as she frantically typed away on her phone. At first, she was going to leave the girl be. But something changed her mind, and Aphrodite walked over to the teen.

"I hate to be nosy, but are you alright?" The girl looked up at her surprised. "I'm sorry, I just saw you crying and all."

"I'm fine, I guess" She tucked her phone away into her pocket. "I just got stood up and all. My dad can't pick me up so I'm just about to try and get home. It's a long walk."
