We got to Ogallala no time, meeting up with Rufus and the others.

"I thought you were bringing a hunter." The only man I didn't know called out.

"With all due respect, screw you."

"That doesn't sound very respectful."

"Well, I said all DUE respect, not that you deserve any of mine with comments like that. The names Alex."

"Okay." The man shrugged.

"Lex, this is Jim."

"Such a pleasure to be around. Sexist asshole." I muttered.

"Let's get this started so we can all go home."

"Caleb, have you found anything out about the nest?" Caleb nodded, taking out a map and a red pen.

"These are the places the people are going missing." He pointed to the dots on the map.

"So this is the general location of the nest then, Caleb?"

"Yes,"

"We should probably go canvas the area then."

"You sound like a cop."

"I watch too much Law and Order." Bobby snickered. (A/N: is there ever too much Law and Order though?)

"Alright. Rufus, you'll come with me, Bobby, you and Keith, Alex..."

"I'm going to the library. Might find some useful information about the abandoned buildings in town."0

"Make sure to take your..."

"Bobby, I have my machete and a syringe of dead man's blood in my bag. I'll be fine."

"Women," Keith muttered.

"Screw you."

"You gonna let this child talk to me like that, Bobby?"

"Shut yer trap, you mouth breathing dick monkey!"

"If you weren't nearby already, we wouldn't have called you." Caleb commented.

"Now shut your mouth before you end up dead somewhere because nobody would answer your calls." Rufus added. I smiled, knowing these three had my back. These guys were my family.

I drove to the library and immediately got onto the computer. Before I knew it, dusk was approaching so I closed up and logged off, shoving the printouts in my bag before heading to my car. I held the machete in my grasp as I heard footsteps behind me. I pulled the machete out of my bag and swung my body around.

"What the hell are you doing, girl?"

"Bobby, you scared me! Ever heard of a cell phone?"

"Ever heard of answering yours?" I took out my phone and noticed the many missed calls. Four from Bobby, five from Caleb, and two from Rufus. I cringed.

"Well, shit. Sorry, guess I got caught up with the research."

"Did you at least find something?"

"Yeah. There's a few possibilities."

"Caleb and Rufus are waiting on us back at the motel."

"Let's go then."
