You opened the door Loki at your side looking much more composed than you felt. Everyone was sitting at the long table waiting for your arrival, they were in conversation but stopped when they saw you arrive and all stood at their seats to greet you. It was odd to see people act this way towards you; with such respect and kindness.

The seat at the head of the table was empty—reserved for you—your sister sat to your left, Thor to your right, an empty seat next to Thor for Loki, your mother sat next to your sister and Odin and Frigga filled the seats next to her and Loki. You smiled and nodded to Loki, he let go of your arm, giving you a reassuring look with a quick wink as he headed to his seat. You sat down smiling and saying your hellos.

"Good evening everyone!" You clasped your hands in front of you as servants with trays of food started to fill the room.

Frigga nodded to you, a nice smile on her face. "Good evening y/n." The servants handed everyone their plates each one different according to the person's taste. You and your sister were the only ones to thank them before they left.

You all started to eat and a few moments of silence went by until Loki made an obviously fake cough, earning a look from his father and he snickered sipping his tea. "Well..." he continued. "I for one would like to know when y/n's ceremony is supposed to be held." His mother gave him a knowing look but before she could say anything your mother spoke.

"Oh yes! I'm so excited!" She picked up the fork wrapped with noodles. "My daughter, finally getting put into the position she belongs in." You smiled but on the inside you were screaming. She put the fork in her mouth looking proud.

That's when Odin—the man of very few words, for what you knew about him—began to speak. "Yes," he turned to you. "your coronation is to be held three days from now."

'WHAT! Three days from now!' You did your best to try and not look as surprised as you felt but you could tell he had noticed. But when you looked around you were grateful to see that everyone—besides Frigga—was just as surprised as you.

Your sister spoke. "Your highness, if I may. Isn't that a little soon?" She glanced at you sipping her wine. "I'm sure my sister is elated, but; in her defense; she's not ready."

   'Rude. I know, but hey...'

Odin rubbed his hands together and scratched his beard. "I relise the timing is not ideal, but my people and yours are expecting a wedding one month from now. To have the two kingdoms united."

You nodded. "I agree." Everyone looked at you like you were crazy; Loki looked like he almost spit out his drink. You hated this. But gosh, if you were going to have to do it. You were going to do it right. "Our people have been told that the wedding will happen. It is not in my ideals to build my reputation as queen on lies." You paused refusing to look at anyone—especially Loki. "The ceremony will commence in three days; and the wedding will continue on its original schedule." You took a larger sip of your wine and looked back at everyone in turn.

Your sister looked in a mix between sad and understanding, Thor looked like he was in a whole other universe entirely and you supposed you would deal with that later. Your mother looked so happy that she might jump out of her seat, Odin looked at you like a father would when his son joins the army and you guessed you could take that as a compliment. Frigga was looking at Loki, who was looking at you in a strange manner; you knew he had heard your words from earlier and he must be trying to figure out what your goal is in all of this. But to be honest, you didn't really know. Really all you wanted to do was get out of this damned castle.

Odin spoke again first. "I'm glad we're on the same page." You smiled, lips closed, and nodded.

   "Of course."

"Father," Thor had spoken for the first time since...well..actually, you both had only ever talked the once so... "What am I to do in the meantime?" For as big as he was he seemed kind of timid. You were pretty sure that was only because of what was going on, you could be wrong.

Your mother piped in. "Oh! I don't mean to interrupt but I think it would be lovely if you were to get to know my daughter!" She looked to Odin for conformation and you turned a bright red.

"That's not; a bad idea." He thought for a moment. "Among other things; yes Thor. I believe you should get to know your bride to be." Thor turned to you and you quickly put on a friendly smile, he kind of half smiled back at you which made you a little pissed.

'Listen here buddy, I know you just fucked my sister and all. But if I have to suck this up, then so do you. Fucking hell! I wish I could fuck your brother but we're both not going to get what we want so let's not throw a pity party and try to understand each other. Mkay?!'

He nodded at his father and continued eating. You glanced beside him and noticed that Loki was about to break his fork in half in his fist but immediately released when he noticed you watching. You looked to your sister, her eyes were glued to her salmon and broccoli poking at a piece with her fork. You sighed as your mother began to chatter again. She had been under that spell so long you had forgotten how blind she was to everyone else around her.

"I am particularly excited about the wedding." She was waving her spoon in the air while taking another gulp of her drink. "Forgive me." She laughed. "I'm getting ahead of myself aren't I?" And before anyone could say anything she began talking again, on and on and on about the wedding.

You groaned internally and continued your favorite meal, you and Loki caught each other's eyes, he glanced at your talkative mother and you rolled your eyes, he chuckled looking back at his meal.

'Three days....I'll be queen; in three days. Fucking hell.' You felt someone's eyes on you so you looked up, it was your sister. She grabbed your hand and gave you a confident smile, you weakly smiled back.
You felt bad, this girl could not wait to be queen a week ago, now that's been taken away from her and she was still trying to comfort you. In some ways it made you mad; but you still loved her for it.

   'This sucks'
